• Wasilla’s Wilfred Fernandez graduated May 7 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Evansville in Indiana.

• Palmer resident Heather Nicole Aki graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication — Journalism.

• Wasilla’s David A. Breck graduated April 30 from Montana State University Billings with a bachelor’s degree in marketing.

• Wasilla’s Melissa Hansen graduated May 7 from Jamestown College, Jamestown, N.D., with a bachelor’s of arts degree in history.

• Wasilla High School graduating senior Ryan T. Wright has been selected as a finalist for the National Merit Scholarship Program. He will attend Brigham Young University next fall on a full academic scholarship.

• Colony High School junior Benjamin Evans is among 300 attendees who will attend the U.S. Air Force Academy’s prestigious Summer Seminar from May 31 to June 4. USAFA Summer Seminar is a unique opportunity for high school juniors going into their senior year to see a realistic picture of what cadet life is about.

• Renn Wright of Wasilla has been accepted for admission at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa for the 2011-12 academic year.
