Rebecca B. Partlow of Wasilla has accepted in the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. She graduated from Colony High School in May 2013. She is the daughter of Jenny Dale and Paul Ferland and Ron and Michelle Partlow of Wasilla. She is entering her sophomore year at Eastern Washington University in Cheney, Washington.

• Jordan Bames Cole of Big Lake graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree Aug. 16 from University of Oregon, Eugene, Oregon.

• Foster Lee Kizer of Palmer graduated with a Master of Music degree Aug. 16 from University of Oregon, Eugene, Oregon.

• Allison E. Bushue of Wasilla graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree Aug. 16 from University of Oregon, Eugene, Oregon.

Chancie Hanson has enrolled for the 2014-15 academic year at Saint John’s University, Collegeville, Minnesota. He is 2012 Wasilla High graduate and the son of Dave Hanson and Diane Firmani ofWasilla. He also will play hockey for the university’s team.

• Army Pvt. Kahla Godette graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, South Carolina. She is a 2009 graduate of Havelock High School, Havelock, North Carolina, the daughter of Kristen Godette of Havelock, North Carolina, and the sister of Kelvin Godette of Palmer.

• Gov. Sean Parnell reappointed William Tull of Palmer to the Alaska State Council on the Arts. Tull is the owner of the law firm William F. Tull and Associates, which he has owned and operated since 1971. He also helped start Mat-Su College.

• An acrylic painting by Palmer artist Gail Niebrugge is among 11 works purchased recently and added to the Alaska State Council on the Arts Alaska Contemporary Art Bank.

• Cadet Justin Paul Chamblee of Palmer completed Cadet Basic Training at the U.S. Military Academy. Chamblee entered West Point on July 2 and has successfully completed basic training and began classes Aug. 18. He graduated from Colony High School in 2014 and is the son of Carl and Lulu Chamblee of Palmer. Chamblee plans to graduate from West Point in 2018 and be commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army.

Rebecca Leisner of Palmer has enrolled for the fall 2014 semester to study anthropology at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado.

Elliot Perkins of Palmer has enrolled for the fall 2014 semester to study athletic training at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado.

Josiah Williams of Wasilla has enrolled for the fall 2014 semester to study athletic training at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado.

Kaitlyn Demoski of Palmer has enrolled for the fall 2014 semester to study environmental studies at Fort Lewis College, Durango, Colorado.

James Nisbett of Palmer has enrolled for the fall 2014 semester to study exercise science, sport administration option at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado.

Forest Strick of Wasilla has enrolled for the fall 2014 semester to study political science at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado.

Elisa Gamez of Wasilla has enrolled for the fall 2014 semester to study sociology/human services, criminology option at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado.

Julia Maxwell of Palmer has enrolled for the fall 2014 semester to study biology at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado.

Jenna Hondl of Wasilla has enrolled for the fall 2014 semester to study mathematics for secondary education at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado.

Amy Michels of Wasilla has enrolled for the fall 2014 semester to study psychology at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado.
