• Kaitlyn Klapperich, of Wasilla, a senior communication studies major, presented work at the fifth annual Humanities Conference April 22 at Central Methodist University in Fayette, Mo. Klapperich debuted her 10-minute play “Row 27,” as well as her info-graphic about human papillomavirus.
Klapperich also was inducted in Sigma Epsilon Pi, an honorary society providing special recognition to the top 10 percent of the senior class.
• Sara Henry, of Palmer, has received the 2014-15 Andrah Foundation Ceramics Fellowship at the State University of New York at New Paltz.
• Darrell L. Wengler, of Wasilla, will graduate with honors in June from the New England Institute of Technology, East Greenwich, R.I.
• Chaz Lyons of Wasilla was among the 1,353 spring graduates of the University of Alaska Anchorage class of 2015. He received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting during a May 3 ceremony at the Alaska Airlines Center in Anchorage. He graduated cum laude. He is the son of James and Lydia Lyons.
• Allan Spangler, a 2006 Colony High School graduate, recently won the Capitol Peak 50-mile running race in Washington state by 50 minutes. His time of 6 hours, 32 minutes and 12 seconds was the second-fastest time in race history.
• Cody Priest, a 2006 Palmer High School graduate, recently won the 55-kilometer Capitol Peak footrace in Washington state.
• Danielle Buckley of Palmer graduated with a Bachelor of Science in education from Chadron State College, Chadron, Nebraska.
• Kaden P. Weaver of Palmer, a sophomore majoring in computer science, received the Priest Scholarship Prize, which acknowledges the sophomore man with the highest academic record during his first year at St. Lawrence University, Canton, New York. Weaver graduated from The Hill School in May 2013. He is the son of Jenny and Todd Weaver of Palmer. And a 2015 summer intern at the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman.
• Kelsey Colligan of Wasilla will work from June 1 to June 26 as a summer intern in the Washington, D.C., office of U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski.
• Dustin Richmond of Wasilla received a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Alaska Anchorage during a celebratory ceremony at the Alaska Airlines Center in Anchorage May 3. Richmond graduated cum laude. His mother is Christine Gordon.
