Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

• Talkeetna resident Rebekah Mathiesen earned a bachelor’s degree in art education May 21 from Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Mo.
• Talkeetna resident Karla L. Nelson earned an associate’s degree in science in nursing from Excelsior College, Albany, N.Y.
• Lindsey Richey of Wasilla is on the dean’s list for the spring semester of 2011 at Ashland University, Ohio. To be eligible for this honor, a student must be enrolled full time and achieve at least a 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale. She is a 2010 graduate of Wasilla High School.
• Homeschool graduate Daniel P. Burton of Palmer received a National Merit University of Alabama Scholarship to study engineering.
• Colony High School graduate Shea B. Hendren, of Wasilla, received a National Merit University of North Texas Scholarship to study music.
