Stull-Britt announce engagement

Wasilla residents Ashlyn Stull and Jareth Britt have announced their engagement, and have set a July wedding date.

Ashlyn is the daughter of Paul and Carrie Stull. Britt is the son of Daniel and Sherry Britt.

The couple plan a 4 p.m. wedding July 15 in Willow.

Denton inducted into Phi Kappa Phi

Karen Denton of Wasilla was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society.

According to a news release, Denton is among approximately 30,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni to be initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year. Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. Only the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent of juniors are eligible for membership.

Denton was initiated at University of Alaska Anchorage.

Protzman-Murphy set September wedding

Anchorage residents Ashlee Protzman and Shane Murphy have announced their engagement, and have planned a September wedding.

Protzman, a UAA graduate, is the daughter of Jim Protzman of Anchorage and Susan Althoff of Payson, Arizona. She works for the state of Alaska.

Murphy, a graduate of AVTEC, is the son of Shawn Murphy of Wasilla. He is a member of Carpenters Union 1281.

The couple has planned the wedding for 4 p.m. Sept. 2 in Girdwood.

Klawitter awarded scholarship

Palmer’s Kamari Klawitter received a $500 scholarship from the North Dakota State College of Science recently, which will be applied to the 2017-18 academic year. According to a news release from the college, the academic scholarships, awarded to 64 incoming first-year students, recognize and reward students for academic achievement, test scores and participation in extracurricular and other volunteer activities.
