• City of Wasilla presented a proclamation to Jane Soeten at the city council meeting Feb. 9 honoring her for her service in the Civil Air Patrol during World War II and for her continued energy and enthusiasm as a member of our Wasilla community. Soeten received a Congressional Gold Medal for her work with the Civil Air Patrol and she’s earned many more medals competing in Senior Olympics.
• Collin Christiansen of Palmer performed with other students from Concordia University, Seward, Nebraska, in a play adaptation of Jack London’s book “The Call of the Wild” for Seward Middle School students and in “A Night on Broadway” Feb. 21 in Weller Auditorium.
• Kelly Renee Moran of Wasilla was named to the president’s list for the fall 2014 semester at Clemson University, Clemson, South Carolina.
• Amy Michels of Wasilla was named to dean’s list for the fall 2014 semester at Fort Lewis College, Durango, Colorado.
