• Mark Fish of Big Lake was appointed to a term on the Alaska Public Offices Commission from March 1, to March 1, 2020.
• Stacy A. Allen of Palmer was reappointed to a term on the Alaska Workers’ Compensation Board to serve from March 1 to March 1, 2018. She was appointed to the board in June 2012.
• Kelly Vrem of Palmer was appointed to a term on the Big Game Commercial Services Board from March 1 to March 1, 2019. Vrem was appointed to the board in March 2013.
• Keith Hamilton of Palmer was appointed to a term on the Board of Education and Early Development from March 1 to March 1, 2020.
• Traci Barickman of Wasilla was appointed to a term on the Real Estate Commission from March 1 to March 1, 2019.
• Richard Larson of Palmer was reappointed to a term on the State Board of Parole from March 1 to March 1 2020. Larson was appointed to the board in March 2010.
• Goose Bay Elementary Physical Education teacher Nancy Blake has been awarded a $2,500 National Jump Rope for Heart/Hoops for Heart Grant — one of 13 grants nationally.
• Terry Snyder of Palmer is the new state president for the Alaska AARP. It’s the top volunteer role in Alaska for AARP, which has more than 86,000 members.
