• Collin Christiansen of Palmer will perform the role of the “Phantom” in a production of Phantom of the Opera at Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska.

• Gov. Sean Parnell appointed Lisa Hart of Palmer to a public seat on the nine-member Alaska Public Broadcasting Commission. Hart is a research analyst for the Alaska Department of Transportation.

• Cameron Christiansen participated in Musical Arts Day Nov. 7 at Concordia University in Nebraska as a Bass II in the University A Cappella Choir.

• Gov. Sean Parnell appointed Casey Cook of Wasilla to the Alaska State Emergency Response Commission. Cook is the emergency manager for the Mat-Su Borough Department of Emergency Services. He previously worked as a public assistance officer for the state of Alaska Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management.

• Gov. Sean Parnell appointed Karen Harris of Palmer and 17 other members of the Alaska Travel Industry Association to serve on the Alaska Tourism Marketing Board. Harris is President of the Alaska Bed and Breakfast Association of Alaska and owner of the Alaska Garden Gate Bed and Breakfast in Palmer.
