A person of interest in the investigation of a triple homicide in Wasilla has been indicted on a federal charge.

Juan Camarena, 51, was indicted on one count of a felon in possession of ammunition in a federal courthouse in Anchorage Wednesday.

During the investigation of the deaths of three Valley residents earlier this month, authorities found and seized ammunition in Camarena’s trailer, according to the U.S. Attorney’s office. Camarena, 51, was wanted for questioning in the investigation of three Valley residents who were murdered Nov. 2. Michael Attwood, 25, and Donna Marie Campos, 37, were found dead off Knick Knack Mud Shack Road. Alyssa Jimenez, 28, was later found dead near Mile 10 of Knik-Goose Bay Road. The deaths of Attwood and Campos were confirmed Nov. 3. Jimenez’ body was found Nov. 5.

Camarena was convicted six times in California between 1987 and 2015. The felony charges included possession with intent to distribute meth, assault with a deadly weapon, felon in possession of a firearm, evading peace officer, possessing, manufacturing, and selling dangerous weapons, and street gang participation.

Authorities found 16 round of ammunition, of various calibers, in Camarena’s trailer during the investigation.
