WILLOW — Every criminal case has a beginning and, in this instance, that beginning was a truck wedged between two trees.
According to Alaska State Troopers, at 12:41 a.m., Thursday, officers were summonsed to a spot on Willow-Fishhook Road near Willow Station Road.
“When troopers from Talkeetna Post arrived on scene, the vehicle (a 1994 Ford truck) was observed to have extensive damage and was wedged between two trees. There was no one in the area,” according to an AST press statement.
But the pickup was registered to Troy Holliday, 45, of Willow, so troopers went to his house near Jacklyn Drive.
“Upon arriving at the residence, Troopers observed a subject outside on the front porch. The subject fired four rounds from a rifle, reportedly in the direction of the backyard. The subject was identified as the vehicle owner, Troy Holliday,” according to the press release.
Troopers arrested him for drunken driving, weapons misconduct and leaving the scene of an accident. He was jailed at the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility on $1,000 bail.
As of late Monday morning Holliday had posted bail and been released.
