ANCHORAGE — There’s a tie at the top of the Alaska Baseball League National League standings.
The Anchorage Glacier Pilots moved into a first-place tie with Mat-Su, with a 3-2 win over the Miners at Mulcahy Stadium in Anchorage Monday.
Chester Pak scored on a Kevin Viers double in the bottom of the fifth to provide the go-ahead run for the Pilots. Anchorage held on to get the victory, and improve to 10-6 in league play. Mat-Su dropped to 9-5.
Seve Romo allowed six hits and two earned runs over 4 2/3 innings, and was dealt with the loss on the mound. Terrence Connelly led the Mat-Su offense with a pair of hits. Connelly posted one of five Mat-Su doubles in the loss. Paul Pannacione and Nick Senzel scored runs.
Mat-Su hosts the Pilots in a doubleheader, slated to start at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Hermon Brothers Field in Palmer. Both games will be seven innings each.
