The Palmer Pioneers held on to win a wild 18-15 Alaska Legion Baseball win over the Wasilla Road Warriors Thursday night.
The Valley rivals combined for 33 runs, 29 hits and 15 errors in seven innings. The teams were tied at 5 in the second, Palmer took a 17-8 lead with an eight-run fifth and Wasilla cut into that deficit with six in the sixth.
Evan Walker drove in four to lead the Pioneers. Brayden Methven added three RBI. Six different Pioneers drove in at least one run. Landon Guggenmos scored a team-high three runs for Palmer. Bryant Marks and Kaden Ketchum had three hits and two runs each.
Byson Malave was 4 for 5, with four RBI and two runs for Wasilla. Pedro Camacho led Wasilla with three runs scored. Eight different Warriors scored at least a run.
