To the editor,
The 6th annual CHAIR-ity Auction event will be held June 11, following the Colony Day Parade. MY House will auction off artistically designed chairs created by community members of all ages with proceeds supporting homeless youth in the Valley!
Community members, families, youth groups and businesses are encouraged to decorate a chair – whether new/old, a garden chair, or a thrift store special. Some of the past artists have worked their magic with duct tape, paint, mosaic, papier mache, or with fabric. Anything and everything goes! If you would like to see examples from past years, check out the photo section on the MY House FB page or go directly to Pinterest for hundreds of fabulous ideas!
Chairs will be displayed on June 10 at the Gathering Grounds Cafe’ in Wasilla (home to MY House), be in the Colony Day Parade on the 11th in Palmer, and auctioned at St. John Lutheran Church (across from the Borough building) during its community picnic at approximately 1:30 p.m.
Please help our local homeless youth by creating a chair and/or by attending the auction. It is always a fun and worthwhile event! If you have questions, email me at waisanen@mtaonline.net. Please put the word CHAIR-ity in the subject area. Happy creating!
