Police arrest 3 for Wasilla home invasion

WASILLA — Alaska State Troopers and U.S. Marshals have arrested three men in connection with a Feburary home invasion robbery in Wasilla.

According to an online press release, one of the men was taken into custody on March 19 and the other two were arrested Thursday morning.

On Feb. 23 at around 4:10 a.m., troopers responded to a report that a home invasion took place at a home on Caribou Road off near the end of Knik Goose Bay Road in Knik. Troopers reported at the time that the suspects took more than $5,000 worth of items and stole a car.

On March 19, troopers with the department’s Criminal Suppression Unit and Statewide Drug Enforcement Unit arrested Beauford Horman, 34, of Wasilla, at a home on Nelson Avenue in Wasilla following a foot pursuit.

On Wednesday, troopers and a U.S. Marshals’ Fugitive Task Force arrested Jared Blackmore, 34, of Wasilla, in Anchorage. Following a separate traffic stop on the Parks Highway, troopers arrested Joe A. Garcia, 40, of Wasilla.

All three men were charged with kidnapping, first-degree robbery, second-degree assault, third-degree assault, first-degree burglary, vehicle theft, evidence tampering, first-degree impersonating a public servant and five counts of second-degree theft. Blackmore was held on $100,000 bail with a court approved custodian requirement, Horman was held on $25,000 bail with a court approved third party custodian requirement and Garcia was held on $75,000 bail with a court approved third party custodian requirement.
