Aug. 10, 10:27 a.m., Hobbit Road, Wasilla. Troopers arrested 44-year-old Wende Schroeder of Wasilla on charges of first-degree vehicle theft. According to reports, police received a stolen vehicle complaint in the area and minutes later, located it near Willow Drive. After a traffic stop and corroborating with a witness who positively identified Schroeder as the person who took the vehicle, Schroeder was arrested and remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility without incident.
Aug. 10, 1:28 a.m., Vance Drive, Wasilla. Responding to a suspicious vehicle incident, troopers arrested 22-year-old Alexis Resendiz of Anchorage on DUI charges. He was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and later released on his own recognizance.
Aug. 11, 12:46 a.m., South Johnsons Road near Parks Highway, Big Lake. Troopers arrested 22-year-old Merlyn Shandley of Willow for DUI and refusal to submit to a chemical test. According to reports, troopers received a report of a stopped vehicle on the roadway. After arriving at the scene, police state finding Shandley passed out behind the wheel. He was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where he was later released on his own recognizance.
Aug. 11, 12:21 p.m., Mile 13 Old Glenn Highway, Palmer. Troopers arrested 35-year-old Maggie Rhodes of Anchorage on DUI charges and outstanding warrants. According to reports, police were called to the area for a reported female passed out behind the steering wheel of a vehicle. Investigation also revealed Rhodes had three outstanding warrants. She was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility with bail set at $500 cash, and $300 cash/corporate on the DUI charge; $1,000 cash on the Palmer warrant, and $500 cash on each of her Anchorage warrants.
Aug. 12, 12:33 a.m., Mile 13.5 Talkeetna Spur Road. After stopping a vehicle for a moving violation, troopers arrested 39-year-old Jason Lind of Anchorage for DUI. He was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility.
