Aug. 4, 2:20 a.m., East Parks Highway. Responding to a threat complaint at an area grocery store, police arrested Edward Frederick Michael III on charges of fourth-degree assault.
Aug. 4, 3:38 a.m., Parks Highway-North Church Road. Following a traffic stop from a phoned-in REDDI report, police arrested Beretta Trefon for DUI and resisting arrest.
Aug. 4, 7:41 a.m., West Nelson Avenue. Police continue an investigation into the burglary at a commercial business. According to reports, in addition to damage to property, petty cash had been stolen.
Aug. 4, 10:17 a.m., East Sun Mountain Avenue. Responding to a report of drug use in a business parking lot, police charged Daniel Russell and Alissa Butler with fourth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance. Police say the vehicle was impounded after investigation revealed multiple signs of drug use which was later corroborated after further investigation.
Aug. 5, 6:47 a.m., South Seward Meridian Parkway. Responding to Walmart for a reported disturbance and trespassing, police arrested Jamie Hale for second-degree criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
Aug. 5, 10:32 a.m., Parks Highway. Responding to a report of a male exposing himself at Wasilla Lake Park, police arrested Patrick Charlie Patrick for indecent exposure.
Aug. 5, 6:24 p.m., East Snow Hill Avenue. Police charged Cablin Wilson with reckless driving following a reported pedestrian hit and run. According to reports, a 14-year-old was struck by a vehicle driven in a reckless manor, which then fled the scene. The pedestrian was not injured.
Aug. 5, 8:31 p.m., Parks Highway. Responding to a single vehicle accident report in a shopping center parking lot, police arrested David E. Brooks on an outstanding failure to appear warrant on the original charge of theft. An investigation revealed Brooks lost control of his motorcycle and crashed. He sustained leg injuries in the crash and the cycle was also damaged. Brooks was also cited for operating a motorcycle without an endorsement of proof of insurance.
Aug. 5, 11:26 p.m., Parks Highway. Police continue investigation into a reported assault at the McDonald’s drive-through lane. Officers report the suspect fled the scene prior to their arrival.
Aug. 6, 7:11 p.m., East Sun Mountain Avenue. Police charged Samuel Tucker with fourth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance after responding to a reported disturbance. According to reports, Tucker was stopped as he attempted to flee the scene and while interviewing Tucker, officers noticed drug crime evidence inside the vehicle. After obtaining a search warrant, police say methamphetamine was seized.
Aug. 7, 4:05 a.m., Parks-Palmer Wasilla Highway. Police took possession of a found wallet at the Tesoro gas station and are attempting to contact the owner. The wallet was placed in safekeeping.
Aug. 7, 4:51 a.m., West Parks Highway-South Potter Road. Following a traffic stop after receiving a REDDI report, police arrested Zachary Stahn for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. According to reports, Stahn was a passenger in the vehicle who police say initially refused to identify himself. Investigation revealed Stahn committed several violations and had to be removed from the vehicle with “pepper” spray.
Aug. 7, 11:04 p.m., Parks Highway. Responding to a reported shoplifter in custody at Carrs, police charged a juvenile with fourth-degree theft from juvenile intake. According to reports, the youth had shoplifted $139.08 in merchandise from the store.
Aug. 8, 10:23 a.m., East McKee Court. Police recovered a vehicle reported stolen from Mat-Su Regional Center two days earlier. The vehicle was released to the registered owner.
Aug. 8, 2:31 p.m., West Parks Highway. Police charged David Sandvik Jr. with second-degree theft through the district attorney’s office. According to reports, Sandvik had stolen assorted tools and equipment valued at $17,000 from a local building supply.
Aug. 8, 4:47 pm., Herning Avenue-Main Street. Responding to a motor vehicle collision, police charged Andrew Kaylor with leaving the scene of an accident and driving while license was suspended through the district attorney’s office.
Aug. 8, 11:42 p.m., North Church Road-West Church Ridge. Following a traffic stop, police arrested Janel Brodigan with felony DUI. She was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility with bail set at $1,000 cash/corporate, $1,000 cash and a court-appointed third party custodian.
Aug. 9, 3:31 a.m., West Lone Cub Drive. Responding to a reported assault, police arrested Kealoha Torres for fourth-degree domestic violence assault. He was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and held without bail.
Aug. 10, 2:20 p.m., North Wesglenn Circle. Police charged Jesse Sullivan with fourth-degree domestic violence through the district attorney’s office. According to reports, officers received an assault after the fact report which led to the charges.
Aug. 10, 10:42 p.m., North Morrie Circle. Police arrested Jason Hundley on outstanding arrest warrants and charged him with providing false information. According to reports, officers contacted Hundley on an adjacent powerline trail. They also allege Hundley gave them a false name because of the outstanding warrants.
Aug. 14, 5:24 p.m., Brass Ring Drive, Wasilla. Troopers continue an investigation into the reported theft of a gun and coins valued at $2,200 from a residence. Anyone with information about the case is asked contact AST at 373-8300.
Aug. 14, 11:07 a.m., Sierra Drive, Wasilla. Troopers continue an investigation into the theft of an engine performance device from an unlocked vehicle. Police say the device, valued at $400, was taken sometimes the previous evening. Anyone with information is asked to contact AST at 745-2131 or Crime Stoppers at 745-3333.
Aug. 14, 9:28 a.m., Sitze Road, Wasilla. Troopers continue an investigation into the reported theft of approximately $1,500 in various shop tools taken from the complainant’s garage. According to reports, the tools were stolen sometime in the previous week and an older Chevrolet S-10 was seen leaving the area with the stolen items in the pickup bed. Aug. 14, 4:02 p.m., Pittman Road-Parks Highway. Responding to a reported suspicious vehicle at an area business with a male and female inside, troopers impounded the vehicle pending further investigation. The occupants were detained and subsequently released but are suspected to have been distributing a controlled substance.
Aug. 14, Wasilla. Troopers arrested 30-year old Starr Richards of Wasilla for fourth-degree domestic violence assault. Richards was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and held without bail.
Aug. 14, 4:26 p.m., Wasilla. Troopers, in conjunction with its Special Crimes Investigative Unit and its Drug Enforcement Task Force, arrested 27-year old Nicholas Kozorra, 21-year old Taylor Lack and 27-year old Frederick Slather—all of Wasilla. According to reports, all three had outstanding felony arrest warrants. The three men were remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility.
Aug. 15, 10:40 p.m., Vine Road, Wasilla. Troopers arrested John Ahearn of Wasilla on outstanding arrest warrants for second, third and fourth-degree assault. He was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and held without bail.
Aug. 6, 9:46 p.m., Terrace Drive, Glennallen. Troopers continue an investigation into the theft of tires and rims, a chainsaw and mountain bike from a residence. According to reports, the victim stated four studded Hankook tires with stock Chevrolet truck rims, a Stihl chainsaw and a silver Trance mountain bike were taken from his property. Total estimated value of the items is $3,550. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact AST at 822-3263.

Police state a complainant told troopers that a motorhome was broken into and panels removed and gasoline was taken from a U-Haul truck parked on the lot. Aug. 13, 1:07 p.m., Vine Road, Wasilla. Troopers are asking for the public’s assistance with a reported assault. The victim stated she was assaulted at a residence but was unsure of who or where the incident occurred. Aug. 15, Colony High School. A 13-year old student at the school was charged with third-degree theft through the Department of Juvenile Justice following a theft report. According to police, school administrators told troopers that the student had stolen several items and cash from fellow students at the school. Administrators said all items but one, along with $50 cash, was recovered and that the school will also take disciplinary actions in accordance with school district policy.
Aug. 15, Aeronautical Avenue, Wasilla. Troopers continue an investigation into the reported theft of more than $10,000 in items from an unoccupied address. According to reports, the complainant said multiple items had been taken from the residence since July of 2017. Troopers said at the time the report was taken, there were no suspects or leads in the case.
Aug. 15, Carney Road, Wasilla. Troopers continue an investigation into the early-morning theft of numerous items from a residence. According to police, culprits stole a horse saddle, vehicle transmission and multiple carpenter tools. Troopers said a ball and machete, found in the area, are being analyzed for evidence and that at the time of the report there are no suspects or leads into the case.
Aug. 15. Troopers continue investigating a reported theft of a Gameboy and related games from a vehicle in the past several days. The items were valued at approximately $600. Troopers state there are no suspects or leads at this point in the investigation.
Aug. 16, 8:25 a.m., Knik-Goose Bay Road. Troopers are asking for the public’s help in solving a criminal mischief complaint from a local business. According to reports, a male subject threw rocks through a window causing an estimated $850 in damages. Anyone with information is asked to contact AST at 745-2131 or Crime Stoppers at 745-3333.
Aug. 14, 10:30 p.m., Fish Creek. Wildlife troopers cited 46-year old Michael Beutler of Wasilla for using a landing net to harvest fish in a creek closed to all fishing. He was also warned for not having his fishing license in his possession. The landing net was seized as evidence.
