Palmer Police Department

Aug. 21. Police took a report of a stolen cell phone from Palmer Junior Middle School.

Aug. 21. Police investigated a stolen wallet complaint which occurred at the Alaska State Fair.

Aug. 22. Police arrested 28-year old Peggy Edwards of Pilot Station for fourth-degree assault, disorderly conduct, and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child. She was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and held without bail.

Aug. 22. Police investigated the theft of a wallet and garage door opener from a parked vehicle at the Alaska State Fair.

Aug. 23. Police arrested 28-year old Nikolay Revutskiy of Wasilla for contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and later released on his own recognizance.

Aug. 24. Police investigated a vehicle damage incident at the Alaska State Fairgrounds’ red lot. A fair-goer reported his vehicle had been “keyed”.

Aug. 24. Police arrested 21-year old Robert M. Chapas of Anchorage on a $500 outstanding warrant for assault and for driving without a valid license. He was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility.

Aug. 24. Police arrested 40-year old David M. Donajkowski of Anchorage on a $100 outstanding arrest warrant on the original charge of fifth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance. He was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility.

Aug. 25. Police issued a summons to 25-year old Christopher M. Hanson for driving without a valid license.

Aug. 25. Police issued a summons to 20-year old Ariel Taylor Maskrey of Anchorage for driving without a valid license.

Aug. 25. Police arrested 34-year old Joshua Waisanen of Wasilla for DUI and refusal to submit to a chemical test. He was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and later released on his his own recognizance.

Aug. 25. Police issued a summons to 26-year old Tazlina Christine Harker of Palmer for driving without a valid license.

Aug. 26. Police arrested 28-year old James R.A. Stone of Anchorage on a $75 assault warrant. He was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility.

Aug. 24. Police issued a summons to an Anchorage 17-year old for driving without a valid license.

Aug. 26. Police arrested 27-year old Matthias James Garding of Palmer for fourth-degree assault. He was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where bail was set at $500.

Aug. 26. Police arrested 25-year old Brianna Michelle Strothenke of Anchorage for reckless endangerment and DUI. She was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and later released on her own recognizance.

Alaska State Troopers

Aug. 27, 7:11 a.m., Wasilla. Troopers are seeking the public’s help in solving a reported theft. According to reports, sometime between Aug. 25-28, someone entered a home under construction and stole approximately $7,000 in building supplies and tools. Neighbors reported seeing a suspicious, older style red Chevrolet S-10 pickup in the area. Anyone with information is asked to contact AST at 745-2131.

Aug. 27, 10:30 a.m., Fuller Lake Circle, Wasilla. Troopers continue an investigation into the reported theft of several firearms valued at $1,800 from a vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to contact AST at 373-8300.

Aug. 30, Big Lake. Troopers continue investigating a reported firearm theft. According to reports, a tall, white male entered an employee’s truck and stole a firearm. Police arrived and began a search but did not locate the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to contact AST at 745-2131.

Aug. 29, 9:20 p.m., Tait Drive, Wasilla. Responding to an active disturbance complaint, troopers arrested 25-year old Jayson Featherstone of Wasilla for fourth-degree assault and disorderly conduct. According to police, Featherstone physically assaulted the homeowner and threatened and challenged troopers during the investigation. He was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility.

Aug. 30, 2:32 a.m., Chickaloon Way, Sutton. Responding to a possible intoxicated driver passed out behind the wheel, troopers arrested 36-year old Ryan Miller for DUI. According to reports, Miller had driven into a ditch. He was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and later released on his own recognizance.

Aug. 28, 7:06 a.m., Big Lake. Troopers continue an investigation into a recent burglary and theft from a Big Lake area cabin. According to police, someone kicked in a cabin door and also forcefully entered an adjacent shed. Two Suzuki generators and two Homelite chainsaws, along with additional miscellaneous items were stolen. Total approximate value of the items is approximately $5,000. Anyone with information on the complaint is asked to call AST at 745-2131.

Aug. 27, 9 a.m., Serendipity Loop, Wasilla. Troopers continue investigating a criminal mischief complaint at a private residence. According to reports, someone broke the front passenger window of a parked car. Troopers said there are no suspects. Anyone with information is asked to contact AST at 373-8300.

Aug. 29, Fairview Loop, Wasilla. Troopers continue an investigation into a fuel theft and criminal mischief complaint involving a van from an area church. According to reports, around 10:30 p.m. the previous evening, suspects cut the vehicle’s fuel line and siphoned gas. Damage and fuel replacement is estimated at $500. Troopers said there is video surveillance of the incident and anyone with information is asked to contact AST at 352-5401.

Aug. 30, 3 a.m., Parks Highway-Stanley Road, Wasilla. Following a traffic stop, troopers arrested 24-year old Billy Walker on a parole violation warrant on the original charge of third-degree assault. He was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and held without bail.

Aug. 27, 11:53 a.m., Parks Highway, Willow. Troopers continue investigating a reported residential burglary. According to reports, someone had broken a window to gain entry and stole items valued at approximately $1,500. Anyone with information is asked to contact AST at 745-2131 or Crime Stoppers at 745-3333.

Alaska Wildlife Troopers

Aug. 24, 12:32 p.m., Palmer. After bringing his harvested sheep to the Palmer Alaska Division of Fish and Game office to be sealed, wildlife troopers cited 46-year old Brian Erickson of Juneau for taking a sub-legal sheep. According to reports, the sheep was not legal with horns that were full curl, broomed on both sides, or at least eight years of age as required. The sheep horns, meat, and cape were seized with the meat donated to a local charity.

Aug. 25, 12:46 p.m., Mile 126 Denali Highway, Cantwell. Wildlife troopers issued a summons to 26-year old Wade Randall Weiss of Anchorage for failing to abide by community harvest subsistence permit conditions. An investigation revealed Weiss harvested a caribou under the permit but failed to salvage the animal’s heart, liver, kidneys and fat as required under a subsistence permit.

Aug. 25, 2:24 p.m., Mile 121 Denali Highway, Cantwell. Wildlife troopers issued a summons to 66-year old Robert Dale Rasmussen of Wasilla for failing to abide by community harvest subsistence permit conditions. An investigation revealed Rasmussen harvested a moose under the permit and failed to salvage the animal’s hide a required under a subsistence permit.

Aug. 26, 10:23 p.m., South Clapp Street, Wasilla. Wildlife troopers arrested 21-year old Dakota Troseth of Wasilla for DUI. According to reports, police stopped Troseth for operating a motorcycle without a headlight. He was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and later released on his own recognizance.

Aug. 22, Rolly Creek, Game Management Unit 14A. Following a nearly year-long investigation into an illegal bear bait station, wildlife troopers issued misdemeanor citations to 36-year old Joshua Yundt of Wasilla for two counts of establishing a bear bait station without an Alaska Department of Fish and Game permit or registration, two counts of establishing a bear bait station within a mile of a permanent structure or cabin, two counts of failing to remove a bear bait station after season, and one count of failing to mark or identify a bear bait station.
