Wasilla Police Department

On December 15, 2017 at 0931 hours, Wasilla Police received a report of a theft. The complainant reported he had stopped his vehicle on Peck Street near Bogard Road to check on an animal when an unknown male opened his passenger door and stole a bag which contained a laptop computer. The case is currently under investigation.

On December 16, 2017 at 0651 hours, Wasilla Police made contact with Samuel Tucker as the driver of a vehicle which was parked off of Clapp Street at W. Aviation Avenue. A record check revealed the vehicle had been reported stolen two weeks earlier. Tucker was found to be in possession of a set of brass knuckles. Tucker was interviewed about the vehicle theft and later released from the scene. The vehicle's recovery information has been forwarded toAST for further investigation. Tucker was charged with misconduct involving a weapon in the 4th degree through the District Attorney's office.

On December 16, 2017 at 1501 hours, Wasilla Police responded to Walmart for a reported shoplifting in progress. Officers identified the suspect as Jeret Hockema who was subsequently charged with concealment of merchandise and misconduct involving a controlled substance in the 4th degree.

On December 16, 2017 at 1521 hours, Wasilla Police conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of the Palmer Wasilla Highway and Felton Street due to erratic driving. The driver was identified as Christopher Hall who was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol. Hall was arrested and transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial facility.

On December 16, 2017 at 1922 hours, Wasilla Police conducted a traffic stop on Bogard Road near Leatherleaf Loop for an equipment violation. The driver was identified as William Fuller who was displaying a false registration on the vehicle he was driving. The vehicle was impounded and Fuller was charged with misuse of a registration.

On December 16, 2017 at 2036 hours, Wasilla Police responded to a reported disturbance at a residence in Wasilla. Following an investigation, Track Palin was arrested for domestic violence burglary in the 1st degree, domestic violence assault in the 4th degree and domestic violence criminal mischief in the 4th degree. Palin was transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial facility.

On December 16, 2017 at 2321 hours, Wasilla Police responded to a motor vehicle collision on Old Matanuska Road at S. Seward Meridian Parkway.

On December 17, 2017 at 1254 hours, Wasilla Police conducted a traffic stop at N. Copper Creek Road and E. Chickaloon for no anti-spray devices and an inoperable brake light. The driver was identified as Charmon Clement who was found to be driving without motor vehicle liability insurance. Clement was charged for the offense through the District Attorney's office.

On December 17, 2017 at 1728 hours, Wasilla Police responded to Sportsman's Warehouse on E. Parks Highway after receiving a report of a shoplifting. On scene, officers made contact with Daniel Brooks who had attempted to steal a $40 pistol magazine. Brooks was charged with theft in the 4th degree through the District Attorney's office.

On December 17, 2017 at 2016 hours, Wasilla Police received a report of a counterfeit bill having been passed at the Holiday gas station on N. Boundary Street. The bill was seized and the case is currently under investigation.

On December 17, 2017 at 2102 hours, Wasilla Police responded to the Valley Cinema parking lot on E. Old Matanuska Road for a reported theft from a vehicle. An investigation revealed someone had broken the window of the car out and snatched a handbag from inside. The case is currently under investigation.

On December 17, 2017 at 2318 hours, Wasilla Police responded to a disturbance involving multiple people in the parking lot of an apartment complex on E. Kalli Circle. Following an investigation, Ashton Engebretsen was arrested for domestic violence assault in the 4th degree and disorderly conduct. Engebretsen was transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial facility where he was held without bail pending arraignment.

On December 19, 2017 at 1620 hours, Wasilla Police took a report of the fraudulent use of an access device. The complainant reported someone had used his credit card without his knowledge or permission. The case is currently under investigation.

On December 19, 2017 at 1710 hours, Wasilla Police responded to a motor vehicle collision on Knik Goose Bay Road at Donna's Way.

On December 19, 2017 at 1845 hours, Wasilla Police responded to a motor vehicle collision in front of Wasilla Lake Park on E. Parks Highway near Crusey Street.

On December 19, 2017 at 1858 hours, Wasilla Police responded to a motor vehicle collision on S. Knik Goose Bay Road at the intersection with S. Eagle Eye Circle. Driver Joseph Powell was cited for speeding.

On December 19, 2017 at 2331 hours, Wasilla Police responded to a motor vehicle collision on W. Parks Highway at N. Weber Drive.

On December 20, 2017 at 1252 hours, Wasilla Police received a report of a fraudulent transaction in progress at Wells Fargo on W. Parks Highway. Officers arrived on scene and made contact with Kyle Hatfield who was attempting to cash a stolen check. Hatfield was arrested for theft in the 2nd degree and forgery in the 2nd degree. Hatfield was transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial facility.

On December 20, 2017 at 1510 hours, Wasilla Police responded to a motor vehicle collision on Wasilla Fishhook Road at Spruce Avenue.

On December 19, 2017 at 2150 hours, Wasilla Police responded to a residence on E. Kalli Circle after receiving a report of a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot who may be siphoning gasoline from vehicles. The investigation into this incident continues.

On December 20, 2017 at 1957 hours, Wasilla Police responded to Fred Meyer after receiving a report of a female who was trespassing on the premises. Officers made contact with Courtney Weeks and confirmed she had entered the store unlawfully. A record check revealed two outstanding misdemeanor warrants for Weeks arrest. Weeks was arrested on the warrants and additionally charged with criminal trespass in the 2nd degree.

On December 20, 2017 at 2047 hours, Wasilla Police responded to a residence on E. Bridge Stone Drive after receiving a report of a domestic violence protection order violation. An investigation led to the arrest of Jonathan Goguen for the offense.

On December 21, 2017 at 1443 hours, Wasilla Police responded to the area of the Parks Highway and Crusey Street after receiving a report of a motor vehicle collision. The drivers were James Guerin and Anthony Watson.

On December 21, 2017 at 1731 hours, Wasilla Police received a report of a hit and run collision on the Parks Highway at Crusey Street. The victim could not provide a vehicle description. No injuries were reported.

On December 21, 2017 at 2238 hours, Wasilla Police responded to the Mug-Shot Saloon on W. Parks Highway after receiving a report of a male on the premises who was in violation of his conditions of release. On scene, officers made contact with Yako Andrew who was subsequently arrested for violating his conditions of release and transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial facility where he was held without bail.

Alaska State Troopers

On 12/23/17 at approximately 0031 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a residence at 3760 Tambert Dr in Wasilla to attempt to contact Jess Baird. Upon arrival Troopers observed Baird through the window in the residence. Baird was arrested on his outstanding warrants with APD and the US Marshals, transported and remanded to MSPT where his bail was set at no bail.

On 12/23/17 at 0245 hours, AST responded to a residence on Lakeview Drive in Wasilla for a disturbance. Investigation revealed Craig Talbott, age 52 of Wasilla, recklessly caused physical injury to a family member during the incident. Talbott was arrested for the original charge of Assault in the 4th Degree and transported to the MSPT facility in Palmer where he was remanded into custody and held without bail.
