Palmer Police Department

On November 27, 2017, Palmer Police arrested WALKER L. UPTEGRAFT, age 21 of Gakona, on a $500 warrant for Failure to Appear at a hearing on Original Charges of Theft 4 and Criminal Trespass 1. He was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial.

On November 28, 2017, Palmer Police arrested DARLA POSEY, age 20 of Palmer, for Assault 4. She was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial where she was held without bail.

On November 29, 2017, Palmer Police arrested TRYGVE VAN BJORKLUND, age 59 of Chugiak, for Driving Under the Influence. He was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial where bail was set at $500.

On November 30, 2017, Palmer Police arrested JOHN AHEARN, age 29 of Wasilla, on a $5,000 warrant for Assault 2, Assault 3, and Assault 4. He was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial.

On December 1, 2017, Palmer Police arrested KAYNE L. ENYEART, age 54 of Wasilla, for Driving Under the Influence and Resisting Arrest. ENYEART was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial where he was released on his own recognizance.

On December 1, 2017, Palmer Police arrested MARK A. DOWNS, age 60 of Palmer, for Felony Driving Under the Influence, Assault 3, Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Driving While License Revoked. DOWNS was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial where bail was set at $10,000.

On December 3, 2017, Palmer Police arrested WILLIAM L. HAGOOD III, age 55 of Palmer, for Driving Under the Influence. He was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial where he was released on his own recognizance.

Alaska State Troopers

On 12/05/2017 at approximately 0137 hours, the Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in Sutton for a moving violation. Investigation revealed the passenger, Dustin Helmandollar, age 28 of Sutton, had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear on the original charge of DUI. Helmandollar was arrested and transported to Matsu Pretrial where he was held without bail.

On 12/03/17, at approximately 2008 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to mile 43 of the Richardson Hwy for the report of a semi-truck in the ditch blocking traffic. Investigation revealed a fuel tanker operated by Alaska Fuel Services was northbound on the Richardson Hwy when it lost traction on the icy wet roads and slid partially into the southbound ditch. While on scene a semi-truck operated by Carlile Transportation Systems attempted to negotiate the scene and the unloaded trailer the tractor was pulling slid across the road and stuck the fuel tanker blocking both lanes of travel. No injuries were reported and only minor damage occurred. The Richardson Hwy was closed for approximately six hours before DOT and a Tow truck Service could clear the road.

On 12-4-17 at 0929 hours, AST dispatch received a report from an individual reporting he parked at the Park and Ride at Seward Meridian and now items are missing off of his truck. Troopers contacted the truck owner. Investigation reveals the truck owner parked his truck at the Park and Ride on 11-30-17 and 12-01-17. He later noticed his RIGID brand DOT approved fog lights ($380) and the mounting brackets ($120) were missing along with his front license plate. Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to call the Alaska State Troopers at 745-2131 or Crime Stoppers at 745-3333

On 12/3/17, at approximately 0356 hours, the Alaska State Troopers responded to a residence on Chesapeake Ave. in Wasilla for a domestic disturbance. Investigation revealed Margaret Schaeffer, age 67, of Wasilla, assaulted a family member with a deadly weapon. The family member was transported to Mat-Su Regional Hospital for injuries sustained during the assault. Schaeffer was arrested for Assault III (DV) and remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial with no bail. She will be arraigned later today.

On 11/12/17, at approximately 1948 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to mile 62 Richardson Hwy to investigate the report of a single vehicle collision with injuries. Investigation revealed 2009 Dodge pickup traveling southbound on the Richardson Hwy struck a moose causing minor injuries to the female passenger from fly debris in the vehicle. The passenger was transported by private vehicle to Valdez for treatment. Alcohol was not a factor and seatbelt use was reported. The vehicle was driven from the scene.

On 11-12-2017, at approximately 1203 hours, Glennallen AST responded to the report of a Burglary after the fact at a residence near mile 93 Richardson Hwy. Investigation revealed one or more suspects entered a residence and stole several items in and around the property to include a three wheeler. Investigation is ongoing.

On 12/01/17 at approximately 0103 hours, Glennallen AST contacted Robert Albert McConkey at a residence in the village of Gulkana during an investigation. Department records show that Robert has an active arrest warrant issued on 11/27/17 on the original charge of NVOL. Robert was placed under arrest on the active warrant and transported to Glennallen post where he is being held with bail set at $250. Alcohol was not a factor in the case.

On 12/03/2017 at approximately 2050 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to an address on Timberland Loop in Wasilla for a report of a disturbance. Troopers contacted and arrested Sergey Tipikin, age 50 of Anchorage, on an outstanding arrest warrant for Failure to Comply with ASAP on the original charge of DUI. Tipikin was remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and held on $50 after serving three days.

On 12/01/2017 at approximately 0004 hours, Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a 2000 green Ford pickup for an equipment violation on Woodpecker Avenue in Talkeetna. An investigation revealed the driver, Timothy P. Buechle, age 57 of Talkeetna, was operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Buechle was placed under arrest for DUI, transported and remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility in Palmer.

On 12/2/2017 at approximately 0346 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a burglarized residence on N. Basie Point Circle. Investigation revealed the house had been burglarized and the suspects had been living in the residence. The home owner was notified. The investigation is ongoing.
