On 12/07/2017 at approximately 0223 hours, an adult male contacted the Alaska State Troopers reporting he was assaulted on the Glenn Highway near mile 38. The victim stated a white sedan occupied by three individuals stopped and two males exited the vehicle and assaulted the victim. The victim was transported to Matsu Regional Medical Center for treatment of my injuries. On 12/7/17 at 0008 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to Marilyn Drive in Palmer for a report of Austin Green age 48 of Palmer violating a DV protective order. Investigation revealed Green was in violation of the Protective order and subsequently remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial for Violation of a DV Protective Order and held without bail.

On 11/30/2017, at approximately 1119 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a theft in the area of McKenchnie Loop, in Palmer. Investigation revealed a Warn 8K model 8000 or 8200 winch had been stolen from a trailer. The case is currently under investigation. Type: Burglary 1st Degree/ Theft 3rd Degree

On 12/05/2017 at approximately 1539 hours the Alaska State Troopers responded to residence on Simon Court in Big Lake for the report of a Burglary and Theft. Investigation revealed someone entered the residence through a window and stole multiple tools with values estimated around $500 within the previous two hours. Troopers followed fresh tracks in the snow leading to a nearby residence. Further investigation ultimately led to a residence approximately two miles from the crime scene. Troopers interviewed a Zane Finger, age 19 of Big Lake, who admitted to stealing the items on Simon Court. The items were recovered and given back to the owner. Charges were filed with the Palmer Court against Finger for Burglary 1st Degree and Theft 3rd Degree.

On 12-6-17 at about 2200 hours, the Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a Chevy SUV for moving violations on Pittman near the Parks Highway. Investigation revealed the driver, identified as 25 year old Wasilla resident Kendra Mitchell, had an outstanding warrant for her arrest for Promoting Contraband 1st, 2nd and MICS 4th. Further investigation revealed a passenger, identified as 24 year old Wasilla resident Ashley Glenn-Sowle, had an outstanding warrant for her arrest for Probation Violation. Both were arrested and remanded to MSPT, Mitchell was held on $5000 bail and Glenn-Sowle was held on $10,000 bail.

On 12/05/2017 at approximately 1039 hours, AST took a report of harassment from Goose Creek Correctional Facility in Wasilla. Investigation revealed that an inmate Benjamin Tambloo, age 24 of Wasilla, inappropriately touched another inmate on the buttocks over the course of approximately 5 months. Charges forwarded to the DAO.

On 12/05/2017 at approximately 1443 hours, AST responded to Knik Goose Bay Rd and Commodore Ln for a hit and run. Lynn Wanzak, age 71, of Palmer was traveling southbound on Knik Goose Bay Rd in white 2017 GMC Terrain, when two moose crossed in front of his vehicle. Wanzak slowed his vehicle to a near stop when he was rear ended. Both vehicles pulled over to the shoulder of the road. The second vehicle was described as a dark maroon colored sedan. As Wanzak made contact, the driver of the suspect vehicle drove off heading southbound on Kink Goose Bay Rd. Damage to the GMC Terrain was estimated at approximately $2500.00. Investigation is continuing.

UPDATE: Amber Robinson, 29 of Palmer, taken into custody and charged with Theft in the 4th degree and Criminal Mischief in relation to this incident. Investigation continues between AST and the US Postal Inspector's office. On 12/05/2017, at approximately 0930 hours, Alaska State Troopers received multiple mail theft reports in the area of Wolverine Road, in Palmer. Investigation revealed dozens of mailboxes had been tampered with and mail had been stolen. The case is currently under investigation. Type: Minor Operating a Vehicle After Consuming Alcohol, Minor Consuming Alcohol

On 12/02/17 at approximately 0137 hours, Glennallen AST conducted a traffic stop on a green Honda Accord near mile 183.5 Glenn Highway for erratic driving and an equipment violation. AST investigation revealed the driver Roy Eskilida, 20 yoa, was driving the vehicle after he had consumed alcoholic beverages. Further investigation revealed the front passenger identified as Gary Pitka, 19 yoa, was under the influence of alcohol beverages. Roy was issued two criminal citations for MOCA and MCA and given a future court date. Gary was issued one criminal citation for MCA. They were all released on scene. Alcohol is a factor in the case.

On 12/5/2017 at approximately 1221 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of alcohol being furnished to minors at Colony High School. Investigation revealed a minor female age 16 of Wasilla brought alcohol to school in a Snapple bottle and furnished it to two other minors ages 14 and 17. The female minor was issued a citation for Minor Consuming /Possessing Alcohol and issued a Summons for Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor with a requirement to appear in court at a later date. The female minor was released to her grandmother.

Type: Motor Vehicle Collision - Injury

On 12/05/2017 at approximately 1751 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to Knik Goose Bay (KGB) Road and Fairview Loop in Wasilla for a report of an injury motor vehicle collision. Investigation revealed Anita Powell, age 57 of Wasilla, was driving her silver Ford sedan south on KGB and turned left onto Fairview Loop in front of Rhonda Bonner, age 51 of Wasilla, in her green Saturn sedan who was driving north on KGB. Bonner sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported by EMS to a local hospital. Powell sustained minor injuries and was treated on scene. Both vehicles are suspected to be totaled. Both drivers report wearing seatbelts and alcohol was not a factor in this incident.

On 12-4-17 at about 0220 hours, the Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a Chevy pickup on Alvin's Alley in Wasilla for a moving violation. Investigation revealed a passenger, 32 year old Wasilla resident David Sandvik, was in violation of his probation conditions. He was arrested and remanded to MSPT where he was held without bail.

On 12/4/17 at 0357 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a single vehicle rollover on Bogard Road near Stoney Hollow Dr. Investigation revealed Brandon Miresse age 18 of Wasilla was driving his 2000 Toyota 4Runner southbound on Bogard when he lost control drove into the ditch rolling his vehicle totaling the vehicle. Miresse reported wearing his seatbelt and was uninjured in the crash.

On 12/4/17 at 1730 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a vehicle theft report of a white 1999 Ford crown Victoria bearing AK plate GSZ431 from Beaver Lodge Road in Big Lake. On 12/04/2017 at approximately 2210 hours, the Alaska State Troopers contacted Ty Stevens, age 41 of Anchorage, in the Palmer Fred Meyers parking lot. Investigation revealed Stevens had an outstanding warrant for Assault 3. Stevens was arrested and transported to Matsu Pretrial where he was held without bail.
