WARRANTS

Feb. 13, 5:27 a.m., Parks Hwy. near Museum Dr.: James C. Wheat, 65, Houston, ran out of gas. He was arrested on two warrants; one for failure to appear in court on no insurance charge and one for failure to appear in court on a DWLS charge. New charge: DWLS. Bail: $1,050.

1 Feb. 13, 11:15 a.m., Via Tranquilla Dr.: A Wasilla 17-year-old was arrested on a warrant for NVOL. Bail: $50.

Feb. 13, 10:50 p.m., Cobb St.: Jacob S. Smith, 31, Palmer, arrested on two warrants: One for failure to appear in court on DUI and DLWS charges, one for failure to complete alcohol screening on a DUI charge.

Feb. 14, 10:01 a.m., Paddock Dr.: Carol Campbell-Taunuu, 38, Wasilla, arrested on warrant for assault and criminal mischief. No bail set.

Feb. 12, 5:05 p.m., Mile 117 Parks Hwy.: Matthew Kubanyi, 24, Fairbanks, stopped for driving 75 in a 65 zone. Summons: DWLR.

2 Feb. 13, 3:03 p.m., Seldon Rd. near Tait Dr.: Tonya L. Cypher, 27, Palmer, stopped for an equipment violation. Summons: DWLR.

ASSAULT

Feb. 12, 3:45 p.m., Wesley Dr: Steven Avalos, 42, Wasilla, allegedly assaulted a woman. Charge: DV assault. No bail set.

Feb. 14, 2:23 p.m., E. Mariah Cir.: Joshua J. Placzek, 24, Wasilla, allegedly assaulted a family member. Charge; Assault. No bail set.

DUI

Feb. 11, 12:35 p.m., Parks Hwy. exit ramp at Fireweed Rd.: David G. Ander, 47, Palmer, drove off the road causing $1,500 damage. Charges: DUI, weapons misconduct. Bail: $1,500.

Feb. 11, 3:06, Palmer: John E. Wright Jr., 35, Sutton, stopped for a moving violation. Charges: DUI, MCA. Citations: Speeding, no proof of insurance, no seatbelt. Passenger Erica E. Baier, 19, Anchorage, arrested on $50 Fairbanks warrant for MCA. Citations: MCA, no seatbelt. Wright’s bail: $500.

Feb. 12, 4:55 p.m., Glenn Hwy. near S. Inner Springer Lp.: Mihri R. Shales, 27, Palmer, stopped on a complaint from the public. Charge: DUI. Bail: $500.

Feb. 13, 4:55 a.m. Parks Hwy. and Pittman Rd.: Paul A. Freeman, 43, Wasilla, drifted off the road into a ditch. Charge: DUI. Bail: $500.

DEATH INVEST-IGATIONS

Feb. 13, 1:50 p.m., E. Meadow Dr.: Kenneth Daniels, 79, Wasilla, found to have died of natural causes.

Feb. 13, 3:54 p.m., Wasilla: Lois A. Hansen, 72, Wasilla, died of natural causes.

THEFT

Feb. 12, 6:30 p.m., W. Island Lake Dr.: Someone forced open a front door, doing $300 damage, and stole $750 worth of household items.

ACCIDENTS

Feb. 13, 1:14 p.m., Mile 13 Palmer-Fishhook Rd.: Nikolay Mkhaylyuk, 19, Wasilla, southbound, trying to turn around to go back to Hatcher Pass in a white 2002 Chevrolet Venture, hit a white 2002 Chevy pickup being driven by Adam Purdy, 38, Eagle River. Pickup damage: $1,000. Damage to the van: $2,000. Mikhaylyuk cited for not yielding. No injuries.

Feb. 14, 12:27 p.m., Trunk Rd. and Woodworth Lp.: Paulette Himenez, 35, Palmer, southbound driving a red 2005 Ford F-250, lost control going around a sharp corner and hit a 2000 Toyota Tundra driven by David J. Hopkinson, 55, Anchorage. Total vehicle damage: $8,000. No injuries.
