May 23. Mile 19, Glenn Highway. Following a traffic stop for an equipment violation, troopers arrested 36-year old Julig Paul Abram, 49-year old Wayne Anthony Daniel, and charged 59-year old Charles Baptiste—all of North Pole. According to reports, Abram has the driver of a pickup which was carrying a reported stolen ATV. He was charged with unlawful possession. Daniel was arrested on an outstanding warrant and troopers state additional charges of second-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance are being forwarded to the district attorney’s office. Baptiste, who was charged with second-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance through the district attorney’s office, was released and transported to Anchorage.
June 21, East Finger Lake View, Wasilla. Troopers, along with the Criminal Suppression unit, arrested 27-tyear old Chance Gypin of Wasilla on a felony failure to appear arrest warrant on the original charge of third-degree assault on a peace officer. Police state Gypin attempted to resist arrest but was apprehended. He was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and held without bail.
June 21, 6:54 p.m., Trevett Avenue, Wasilla. Troopers are seeking the public’s help in recovering a stolen SUV. The vehicle is a red 1987 Nissan Pathfinder, Alaska plate GHV107, lifted with oversized tires and was taken from a business lot. Anyone with information is asked to contact AST at 352-5401 or Crime Stoppers at 745-3333.
June 21, 7:38 p.m., Knik-Goose Bay Road. Troopers arrested 26-year old Nicholas Latocha on a probation violation warrant on the original charge of second-degree theft. Police state Latocha attempted to flee on foot but after a short chase was apprehended. He was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and held on $2,500 bail plus court-appointed third party.
June 21, 9:56 p.m., Palmer. Responding to an assault complaint, troopers arrested 37-year old Jeffrey Cannady for fourth-degree assault and fifth-degree criminal mischief. Police state Cannady assaulted a family member causing injury and damaged property. He was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and held without bail.
