June 7, Kalwies Lane, Palmer. Troopers arrested 74-year old Frank Bird of Palmer on two counts of third-degree assault and one count of misconduct involving a weapon. According to troopers, police responded to the residence on a welfare check around 11 p.m. Sunday, June 3 and found Bird armed with a shotgun. Troopers state Bird allegedly fired one round toward multiple officers and a short standoff ensued before police decided to disengage and sought an arrest warrant. Troopers and its Statewide Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) subsequently arrested Bird who was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and held on $5,000 bail.
June 7, 9:20 p.m., Williwaw Subdivision, Wasilla. Troopers arrested Jesiah Hanson on an outstanding arrest warrant on the original charge of first and second-degree vehicle theft after finding him walking along Copper Creek. He was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and held on $5,000 bail plus court-appointed third party.
June 7, 10:17 p.m., Matanuska River-Old Glenn Highway. Troopers arrested Jesse Stoddard and Jamie Wooley on outstanding arrest warrants. According to reports, both were camping in the area. Police state Stoddard’s warrant stems from a DUI probation violation and Wooley’s on first-degree theft. Both were remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where Stoddard was held on $100 bail and Wooley on $2,500 bail plus court-appointed third party.
June 8, 12:07 a.m., Captain Circle, Wasilla. Troopers arrested Darleene Borchardt on an outstanding probation violation warrant on the original charge of first-degree theft. She was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and held on $2,500 bail plus court-appointed third party.
