1 March 17, 5:31 p.m., Fred Meyer: Kevin Merilatt, 41, Wasilla, was detained for allegedly shoplifting but arrested for DUI and NVOL. Bail: $500.
March 18, 4:42 p.m.: Charles Arnold, 50, Wasilla, was called in as a possible drunk driver. Charge: DUI, refusing a breath test, DWLS. Bail: $6,000.
2 March 19, 6:35 p.m., Sears parking lot: Justin Wood, 33, Big Lake, reported as a drunk driver. Charge: DUI. Bail: $500.
March 20: William Wilson, 46, Wasilla, contacted leaving the scene of a disturbance. Charge: DUI. Bail: $500.
ACCIDENTS
4 March 19, 7:30 p.m., Seward-Meridian Pkwy. and Parks Hwy.: A 17-year-old Wasilla girl trying to merge onto the onramp allegedly failed to yield for a yield sign and hit Vitaly Minaev, 50, Wasilla. No injuries. Teen cited for not yielding.
5 March 20, 9:58 p.m., Parks Hwy. and Palmer-Wasilla Hwy.: A 37-year-old Wasilla man reported his vehicle had been hit by a red Subaru at the Tesoro station but the other driver left without exchanging information.
March 21, 9:10 p.m., Palmer-Wasilla Hwy. Extension and Roberts St.: A vehicle hit a moose. No injuries.
BURGLARY
March 19, 5:28 p.m., Holiday Dr.: Two juveniles were arrested after fleeing the scene of a burglary reported as it was in progress. Charges were sent to Juvenile Justice.
3 March 20, 10:04 a.m., Windbreak Hotel: Someone broke into a hotel room.
THEFT
March 17, 5:52 p.m.: A 33-year-old Wasilla woman reported her purse had been stolen from her vehicle.
March 21, 2:50 p.m.: Lowell J. Thompson IV and Jesse Diamond were in a car officers recognized as being associated with earlier thefts. The pair allegedly stole a DeWalt impact wrench and a Milwaukee cordless drill, which were found in the car, from Home Depot. Charges: Theft. Bail: $5,000 each.
