May 3, 1:27 a.m., Parks Highway-Vine Road. After initiating a moving violation stop on a motorcycle, troopers arrested 25-year-old Ethan Atkins of Houston for first-degree eluding and DUI. According to reports, Atkins failed to stop at the direction of a peace officer and drove north on Parks Highway at speeds approaching 100 miles per hour. Troopers stated Atkins pulled over near Big Lake Road where he was arrested and remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and held on $1,000 bail.
May 2, 6:53 p.m. Taylor McLeod, 30, of Willow, turned himself in at the Mat-Su West Trooper post on an outstanding failure to appear warrant on the original charge of DUI. He was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and held on $1000 bail after serving 20 days.
May 2, 2:52 a.m., mile 33 Glenn Highway. Performing a traffic stop for speeding, troopers arrested 20-year old Teresa Long and 25-year-old Alison Delarosa, both of Anchorage, for DUI. According to reports, police determined Long, who only had a valid Alaska learner's permit, was driving. Delarosa, the responsible front-seat passenger was, according to troopers, also under the influence of alcohol. In addition to the DUI charge, Long was cited for minor operating after consuming alcohol and minor consuming alcohol. Both were remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and released on their own recognizance when sober.
May 1. Wildlife troopers contacted 69-year old Kenneth Coppedge of Wasilla and cited him for failure to submit a 2016 RC860 hunt report as required. Bail was set at $110.
