Wasilla Police Department

On October 27, 2017 at 0904 hours, Wasilla Police received a report of multiple thefts after the fact from Walmart on S. Seward Meridian Parkway. The cases are currently under investigation.

On October 27, 2017 at 0919 hours, Wasilla Police responded to a residence on E. Old Matanuska Road for a reported domestic dispute. An investigation revealed a 14 year old had assaulted a household member. The juvenile is being charged with assault in the 4th degree through the Division of Juvenile Justice.

On October 27, 2017 at 1326 hours, Wasilla Police responded to the intersection of the Parks Highway and Alpine Street for a reported motor vehicle collision. No injuries were reported.

On October 27, 2017 at 1624 hours, Wasilla Police responded to the intersection of N. Main Street and E. Parks Highway.

On October 27, 2017 at 2326 hours, Wasilla Police responded to the Carrs parking lot of E. Parks Highway after receiving a report of a driver who appeared to be unconscious behind the wheel of a vehicle at that location. The driver appeared to be under the influence of narcotics. The vehicle was seized and a search warrant is pending.

On October 28, 2017 at 0300 hours, Wasilla Police responded to McDonald's restaurant on E. Parks Highway after receiving a REDDI report. Officers made contact with Michael Padgett Jr., who was subsequently arrested for DUI.

On October 28, 2017 at 0901 hours, Wasilla Police responded to a reported single vehicle motor vehicle collision near the intersection of the Palmer Wasilla Highway and Roberts Street. An investigation revealed a male driver had struck a tree the night before.

On October 28, 2017 at 1633 hours, Wasilla Police responded to the Meta Rose Square on N. Yenlo Street for a reported theft. The complainant reported her wallet had been stolen while she had been shopping.

On October 28, 2017 at 1749 hours, Wasilla Police made contact with Christopher Weeks on E. Swanson Avenue. Weeks was found to have merchandise on his person which had been stolen from Carquest Auto Parts just prior to this contact. Weeks was charged with theft in the 4th degree.

On October 28, 2017 at 1539 hours, Wasilla Police received a report of a theft from a vehicle which was in the Wells Fargo parking lot on E. Parks Highway. The complainant reported someone had entered her vehicle while she was inside the bank and stole her purse. The case is currently under investigation.

On October 29, 2017 at 0050 hours, Wasilla Police responded to Walgreen's on E. Parks Highway after receiving a report of an assault after the fact. An investigation showed a female had been assault in the Fred Meyer parking lot. The case remains under investigation.

On October 29, 2017 at 0352 hours, Wasilla Police responded to the area of the Grandview Hotel after receiving a report of a suspicious vehicle. The driver was identified as Tahanashi Ann Price who was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol. Price was arrested and transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial facility.

On October 29, 2017 at 0935 hours, Wasilla Police responded to Mudbuster's Car Wash on W. Rupee Circle for a reported theft. The case remains under investigation.

On October 29, 2017 at 1934 hours, Wasilla Police made contact with Chance Fleming who had been causing a disturbance at a business on N. Boundary Street. Fleming was subsequently charged with disorderly conduct and transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial facility.

On October 30, 2017 at 0827 hours, Wasilla Police took a report of a theft and criminal mischief. An employee of the Mudbuster's Car Wash on E. Herning Avenue reported someone had broken into the vending machines at that location and stole money and caused damage to the machines. The case is currently under investigation.

On October 30, 2017 at 1626 hours, Wasilla Police responded to Walmart for a report of a female who was removing tags from merchandise and concealing the merchandise. An investigation revealed Sandra Townsend had concealed $624.97 worth of merchandise. Townsend was charged with concealment of merchandise through the District Attorney's office.

On October 30, 2017 at 2143 hours, Wasilla Police responded to Walmart for a report of a shoplifter. While at the scene, officers observed a female who was bothering customers in the parking lot asking for money. The female was identified as Sandra Townsend who had been trespassed from the store and removed from the property earlier that day. Townsend was arrested for criminal trespass in the 2nd degree and transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial facility.

On October 31, 2017 at 0151 hours, Wasilla Police responded to a residence on E. Swanson Avenue for a reported disturbance. An investigation revealed Dustin Vincent was in violation of his conditions of release. Vincent was arrested for the offense and transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial facility.

On October 31, 2017 at 0906 hours, Wasilla Police responded to Fred Meyer for a report of trespassing. On scene, officers made contact with Destini McGhie inside the store. McGhie had been previously trespassed from the store. McGhie was escorted off the property and issued a summons to appear in court for the offense of criminal trespass in the 2nd degree.

On October 31, 2017 at 1051 hours, Wasilla Police received a report of a female juvenile shoplifter. The complainant, an employee of Famous Footwear on E. Parks Highway reported the juvenile had stolen merchandise in excess of $250. The juvenile was charged with theft in the 3rd degree through Juvenile Intake.

On October 31, 2017 at 1449 hours, Wasilla Police received a report of a hit and run collision. The complainant reported her vehicle had been struck while parked in the Fred Meyer parking lot and the suspect vehicle left the scene without any contact from the driver. The case is currently under investigation.

On October 31, 2017 at 1852 hours, Wasilla Police received a report from Fred Meyer loss prevention personnel what Christopher Weeks was inside the store, where he had been previously trespassed. Weeks had also been seen concealing $75 worth of merchandise on his person. Officers arrived on scene and arrested Weeks who still had the merchandise on him. A record check revealed Weeks was on probation for vehicle theft in the 1st degree and another

concealment of merchandise case. Weeks was arrested for the warrants and additionally charged with criminal trespassing in the 1st and 2nd degrees, concealment of merchandise and violating his conditions of release.

On October 31, 2017 at 1846 hours, Wasilla Police responded to My House on N. Willow Street after learning that a reported juvenile runaway was at their facility. Officers made contact with the juvenile who was in the Office of Children's Services' custody. OCS was contacted and returned to their custody.

On November 1, 2017 at 0209 hours, Wasilla Police responded to a residence on N. Lucus Road for a reported disturbance. Officers made contact with four intoxicated adults who were unable to get along. One of the adults was identified as Jonathan Tyler Adam Gunlik who initially provided two false names in the hopes of concealing his identity from police. A record check revealed an outstanding felony warrant for Gunlik's arrest had been issued from Bethel for failing to provide a drug test on an original charge of assault in the 2nd degree. Gunlik was arrested and transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial facility with an additional charge of providing false information.

On November 1, 2017 at 0731 hours, Wasilla Police were flagged down by hitchhikers asking for a ride on W. Parks Highway. One of the subjects was identified as Charles Goodman who was found to be in possession of a small amount of heroin. Goodman was issued a summons to appear in court for misconduct involving a controlled substance in the 4th degree.

On November 1, 2017 at 2033 hours, Wasilla Police responded to the intersection of Church Road and Glacier Avenue for a motor vehicle collision.

On November 2, 2017 at 0853 hours, Wasilla Police responded to a motor vehicle collision on E. Parks Highway at N. Crusey Street involving three vehicles. Driver Ronnie Davis was cited for failing to provide proof of insurance, failing to exercise due care to avoid a collision and issued a summons to appear in court for driving while his license was revoked.

On November 2, 2017 at 0921 hours, Wasilla Police received a report of a disturbance at the Kashim Motel on W. Parks Highway. Following an investigation, Seth Thomas was arrested for domestic violence assault in the 4th degree.

On November 2, 2017 at 1758 hours, Wasilla Police responded to a residence on E. Kalli Circle for a report of a domestic disturbance. Following an investigation, Cori Smith was arrested for two counts of domestic violence assault in the 4th degree.

On 11/06/17, at 1510 hours, AST responded to the report of disturbance at a residence on Polaris Lane, in Wasilla where people were hitting each other. Investigation revealed Kevin Slats (49) of Wasilla had assaulted a household member by hitting them in the head and causing pain. Slats was arrested and remanded to MSPT where no bail was set. Alcohol was a factor in the case.

On 11/5/17 at approximately 0806 hours, an employee of a construction company, called 911 to report a burglary in progress due to witnessing people on the property from a remote security system at a construction yard. Alaska State Troopers, Alaska Wildlife Troopers and Wasilla PD responded to the scene. Troopers contacted a 1992 GMC Suburban outside of the business fence, inside of the vehicle was Jacob Still, age 35 of Wasilla. The suburban contained stolen items from the construction yard. Still was taken into custody without incident. Troopers with the assistance of K9 Skippy and Wildlife Troopers were able to track a second individual who fled from the property into a nearby swamp area. Troopers located the individual in the swamp area approximately four hours after the search began. The suspect was observed from a distance. The area was difficult to access due to open water. Wildlife Troopers responded with an airboat and apprehended the suspect who was transported to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center by EMS. The second suspect was identified as Tony Saley, age 42 of Wasilla. Saley and Still were arrested on Burglary in the second degree and transported to Mat Su Pre-trial. Other charges are pending at this time.

On 11/04/17 at 2105 hours, AST performed a traffic stop on a red 1993 Dodge pick-up near mile post 49 of the Parks Highway in Wasilla for speeding in the safety corridor and construction zone. Investigation revealed Korie Russell, age 27 of Wasilla, was driving while under the influence of alcohol while in possession of a firearm. Russell was arrested for the original charges of DUI and Misconduct Involving Weapons in the 4th Degree. Russell was transported to the MSPT facility in Palmer where he was remanded into custody and released O/R when sober.

On 11/01/17, at approximately 0358 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to the intersection of Knik-Goose Bay Road and Knik Knack Mud Shack Road for the report of a single vehicle rollover. Investigation revealed that Korby Moorman, age 23 of Wasilla, lost control of his vehicle and caused disabling damage to it during the ensuing rollover collision. Moorman was transported to the MATSU Regional Medical Center to be treated for injuries. Alcohol and/or controlled substances may have been a factor in the collision and the investigation continues.

On 10/31/17, at approximately 2002 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to 609 S. Knik-Goose Bay Road for a report of a single vehicle collision. Investigation revealed that Leroy Johnson, age 71 of Wasilla, lost control of his vehicle and collided with a tree. Johnson was transported by ambulance to the MATSU Regional Medical Center to be treated for injuries. Johnson was released from MATSU Regional and was subsequently arrested for DUI. Johnson was transported to the MATSU Pre-Trial Facility where he was remanded and released on his own recognizance.

On 10/27/2017 at approximately 0723 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a car being broken into and items having been stolen from it. Investigation revealed sometime during the night someone broke into a 2014 silver Volkswagen Jetta near E Chickadee Dr. Wasilla. A Nikon D90 DLSR camera and a Go Pro IV valued at $1,000.00 were taken. Anyone with information regarding this case is requested to contact the Palmer Alaska State Troopers at 907-745-2131

On 10/27/2017 at approximately 0911 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a car being broken into and items having been stolen from it. Investigation revealed sometime during the night someone broke into a 2008 Hyundai Varacruz near N Belmont Ave. Wasilla. Approximately $300.00 worth of music CD’s were taken and $20.00 cash. Anyone with information regarding this case is requested to contact the Palmer Alaska State Troopers at 907-745-2131.
