Wasilla Police Department

On October 13, 2017 at 0101 hours, Wasilla Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on N. Boundary Street after receiving a call to locate it. One of the individuals in the vehicle was identified as Antonio Arroyo who was found to have two outstanding warrants for his arrest. Arroyo was found to be in possession of a controlled substance and other objects used in the distribution of drugs. Arroyo was arrested on the warrants and additionally charged with misconduct involving a controlled substance in the 2nd degree where he was held without bail.

On October 13, 2017 at 1304 hours, Wasilla Police received a report of theft from Mat-Su Water on W. Parks Highway. The complainant reported Jeremy Fairbanks had stolen $1,157 from the company over the course of a year. Following an investigation, Fairbanks was charged with theft in the 2nd degree through the District Attorney's office.

On October 13, 2017 at 1408 hours, Wasilla Police responded to a residence on N. Nina Circle for a reported theft. The complainant reported two paintings valued at $1,500 had been stolen from her residence. The case is currently under investigation.

On October 13, 2017 at 1457 hours, Wasilla Police responded to the intersection of the Palmer Wasilla Highway and Roberts Street for a reported collision.

On October 13, 2017 at 1615 hours, Wasilla Police responded to Main Street near Swanson Avenue for a motor vehicle collision. Driver Wesley Fuxa was charged with no motor vehicle liability insurance through the District Attorney's office. Fuxa was also found to be in possession of a controlled substance. Fuxa's vehicle was impounded and a search warrant has been applied for. The case remains under investigation.

On October 13, 2017 at 1758 hours, Wasilla Police responded to Local's Pizza & Pub restaurant on E. Parks Highway after receiving a report of a male urinating on a truck in the parking lot while holding a beer. The male was located and identified as Steven Haney. Haney was arrested for being drunk on a licensed premise and transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial facility.

On October 14, 2017 at 1424 hours, Wasilla Police conducted a traffic stop at N. Lucille Street and E. Spruce Avenue for speeding. The driver was identified as Stephen Todd who was found to be driving while his license was revoked from a previous DUI offense. Todd was interviewed and allowed to park his vehicle in a nearby lot. Todd was charged with DWLR through the District Attorney's office.

On October 14, 2017 at 1822 hours, Wasilla Police responded to Fred Meyer on E. Parks Highway after receiving a report that a male was trespassing who had been previously trespassed f rom the store. The male was identified as Cole Thomas-Ballinger who was subsequently arrested for criminal trespassing in the 2nd degree.

On October 14, 2017 at 1822 hours, Wasilla Police responded to Big Valley Bingo on E. Old Matanuska Road after receiving a report of suspicious circumstances. An investigation revealed a 4th degree assault may have been committed by Tarri Harrold-Jones. Charges were forwarded to the District Attorney's office for review.

On October 14, 2017 at 2102 hours, Wasilla Police responded to the Holiday gas station on N. Boundary Street after receiving a report of a male trespassing at that location. Adam John Avakumoff had been previously trespassed from the store and was charged with criminal trespassing in the 2nd degree through the District Attorney's office.

On October 15, 2017 at 1335 hours, Wasilla Police responded to the Windbreak Hotel on E. Parks Highway after receiving a report of a person trespassing at that location. James Divizio refused to leave his room at the hotel and he was subsequently arrested for criminal trespassing in the 2nd degree and remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial facility.

On October 16, 2017 at 1309 hours, Wasilla Police responded to a motor vehicle collision at Sun Mountain Avenue and Hermon Road.

On October 16, 2017 at 1940 hours, Wasilla Police responded to Walmart for a shoplifter in custody. Cody Marsh had stolen $120.12 worth of merchandise. Marsh was issued a criminal citation for theft in the 4th degree.

On October 16, 2017 at 2006 hours, Wasilla Police conducted a traffic stop at E. Parks Highway and N. Lucille Street for an equipment violation. The driver was identified as Joshua Corona who was found to be driving while his license was revoked. Corona was issued a summons to appear in court for the offense and cited for no proof of insurance and failure to dim headlights to oncoming traffic.

On October 16, 2017 at 2058 hours, Wasilla Police conducted a traffic stop at E. Danna Avenue and N. Wasilla Fishhook Road. The driver was identified as Carl Bigler who was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol and while his license was revoked. Bigler was arrested for those two offenses and cited for speeding.

On October 18, 2017 at 1948 hours, Wasilla Police responded to Fred Meyer after receiving a report of a male trespassing on the property. Officers made contact with Jesse Stoddard on scene and he was issued a summons to appear in court for trespassing.

On October 19, 2017 at 1107 hours, Wasilla Police responded to Infusion Boutique on E. Palmer Wasilla Highway after receiving a report of a disturbance. An investigation revealed a female shoplifter came into the store and then fled to a waiting vehicle driven by a white male, which hit a vehicle in the parking lot before leaving the scene. The case remains under investigation.

On October 19, 2017 at 1948 hours, Wasilla Police responded to Fred Meyer for a shoplifter in custody. Zane Roberts had stolen $71.81 worth of merchandise and was charged with theft in the 4th degree through the District Attorney's office.

Dispatch Text: On 10/19/17 at approximately 1934 hours, Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a 1994 green Toyota Camry for an equipment violation. Investigation revealed the driver Christopher Callaway, age 29 of Big lake had an outstanding warrant out for his arrest. Further investigation revealed both passengers, Monica Harris and Tazlina Harker also had outstanding warrants out for their arrests. All were arrested, transported and remanded to MSPT.

Dispatch Text: On 10/18/17 at approximately 2315 hours, Alaska State Troopers responnded to a residence on Timberline Dr in Big Lake for a report of a disturbance. Investigation revealed Christopher Novonty, age 26, of Big Lake had an outstanding warrant out for his arrest. He was arrested, transported and remanded to MSPT where his bail was set at $1,000 CATP.

Dispatch Text: On 10/19/2017 at approximately 1917 hours, Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a silver Ford F250, driven by Daven Michael Latham, age 24 of Trapper Creek, for multiple equipment violations on Susitna River Road in Trapper Creek. An investigation revealed Latham had placed the vehicle registration plate from another vehicle on the F250 he was currently driving. Latham was subsequently issued a misdemeanor citation for Improper Use of Registration, with a notice to appear to the Palmer Courthouse on a later date.

Type: No Valid Operator License (NVOL)

Dispatch Text: On 10/19/2017 at approximately 1751 hours, Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a black Mazda MX6 for a moving violation near mile 97 of the Parks Highway in the Talkeetna area. An investigation revealed the driver, Dawn Marie Hall, age 23 of Willow, did not possess a valid operator license. Hall was subsequently issued a misdemeanor citation for NVOL, with a notice to appear to the Palmer Courthouse on a later date.

Type: Motor Vehicle Collision with moose

Dispatch Text: On 10/19/2017 at approximately 1954 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a single vehicle motor vehicle collision with a moose at mile 123 of the Parks Highway in the Trapper Creek area. Daniel Hall, age, 54 of Big Lake, was driving his 2014 Ford F550 southbound on the Parks when he collided with the moose. Hall was not injured in the incident. A local charity was contacted to salvage the animal.

Type: Promoting Contraband 1st Degree x 2 counts

Dispatch Text: On 10/18/17 at 2111 hours, Corrections Officers at Goose Creek Correctional Center contacted AST and reported Ricki Wasmund just departed the facility after giving an inmate controlled substances during a visit. Thirty minutes later AST observed Wasmund's vehicle traveling north bound near mile 2 of KGB Road and performed a traffic stop. Wasmund was arrested for 2 Felony counts of Promoting Contraband in the 1st Degree and transported to the MSPT facility in Palmer where she was remanded into custody and held on $500 bail. Charges are being forwarded to the Palmer DAO on the involved inmate for the same charges.

Type: Burglary II, Theft II

On 10/12/17, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a burglary which occurred at a business near E. Meridian Loop, in Wasilla. Initial investigation revealed unknown suspects unlawfully entered the business and stole several items valued at over $550. The Palmer Alaska State Trooper’s Criminal Suppression Unit (CSU) took case responsibility and subsequently identified the suspects involved. On 10/19/17, at approximately 1615 hours, CSU arrested Anthony Harootunian, age 53 of Wasilla, and charged him with Burglary II, and Theft II in-regards to the burglary. Harootunian was remanded to the custody of the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility. Bail was set at $10,000 cash only. Investigation is still ongoing.
