On 10/24/17, at 0150 hours, AST stopped a 1996 Oldsmobile SUV for an equipment violation. A passenger in the vehicle was identified as Angela May Gonzolas, 42 yoa of Wasilla. Gonzolas was found to have two warrants for probation and parole violations on an original charge of Felony DUI. Gonzolas was arrested and remanded at MSPT with no bail.

On 10/24/17, at 0105 hours, AST stopped a 2003 Honda Accord for an equipment violation at Mile 51 of the Parks Highway. The driver was identified as Orville D. Newhall, 57 yoa of Big Lake. Newhall was operating the vehicle with a revoked license. Newhall was issued a citation for DWLR and released with a future court date. The vehicle was released to a licensed passenger.

On 10/23/17, at approximately 2008 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to the Holiday gas station at Pittman and Parks Highway for a report of a female trying use a fake $20 bill to purchase items. Investigation revealed that Mandy L. Edelen, age 37 of Wasilla, attempted to use a fake $20 bill to purchase approximately $16 of food items, was committing an act of criminal trespass, and had another fake $20 bill in her pocket. Edelen was placed under arrest for forgery and criminal trespass charges and transported to the MATSU Pre-Trial Facility where she was remanded on $500 cash performance bond and $500 (unsecured) cash appearance bond.

On 10/23/2017 at approximately 0008 hours, AST contacted the driver of a pickup for being reported as a Report Every Dangerous Driver Immediately (REDDI) at a residence located on Golden Hills Drive in Palmer. An investigation revealed Roberta M. Kehler, 53 YOA from Palmer, was while operating a vehicle while impaired by alcohol. Roberta was arrested for Driving Under the Influence and remanded into custody at Matsu Pretrial. Bail was set at O/R.

On 10/22/2017 at approximately 0746 hours the Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of a Burglary in the area of Snow Goose in Wasilla. It was reported that two generators, valued at approximately $1000.00 each, were taken sometime the previous evening.

On 10/23/17 at approximately 1532 hours Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision on the Parks Highway near Meadow Lakes Loop. Investigation revealed Lee Vanburen, age 48 of Wasilla was driving his 1988 Chevy pickup when he attempted to cross the Parks Highway towards Meadow Lakes Loop. Vanburen collided with a 2011 Nissan Versa which was traveling northbound on the Parks Highway driven by Kelly McGriff, age 40 of Wasilla. Both drivers reported wearing their seatbelts. Alcohol was not a factor. McGriff was transported to MSRMC for non-life threatening injuries.

On 10/23/17 at approximately 1357 hours Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of a theft of a generator from a business off of Tweed Court in Wasilla. Initial investigation revealed a Champion 3,500 watt Patriot generator had been taken around 10/14/17. The generator has a distinctive American flag pattern and is valued at $580.00. Anyone with information about this case is encouraged to call the Alaska State Troopers at 745-2131

On 10/22/2017 at approximately 0800 hours the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a theft at gas station on the Parks Highway near mile 49. The victim reported that a purple Vera Bradley purse was taken from a table at the gas station, the purse with contents was valued at approximately $100. AST is requesting anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Alaska State Troopers at 745-2131 or Crime Stoppers at 745-3333.

On 10/21/17, at approximately 0400 hours, the Alaska State Troopers attempted to stop 1997 Ford Aspire near the intersection of the Parks Highway and Lamont Avenue for an equipment violation. Investigation revealed the driver, Kristopher Berberich, age 20, of Wasilla, eluded AST after a vehicle pursuit which ended with him fleeing in to the woods. AST located Berberich later that same day at a residence on E. Barra Loop and arrested him for failing to stop at the direction of a peace officer in the first degree. He was remanded to Mat-Su pretrial on a $1000.00 unsecured bond and $250.00 cash/corporate bail.

On 10/21/17, at approximately 2332 hours, the Alaska State Troopers contacted Randi Greene, age 27, of Wasilla, during a traffic stop. Investigation revealed Green had a $250.00 cash/corporate felony arrest warrant stemming from an original charge of Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance IV. She was arrested and remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial where she will await arraignment the following day.

Type: DUI, Driving in Violation of Instructional Permit

On 10/22/2017 at approximately 0006 hours, Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a black 2008 GMC pickup in the parking lot of the Sunshine Tesoro service station in the Talkeetna area because the driver was doing donuts/burnouts in the parking lot. An investigation revealed the driver, Tyler Nathanial Thein, age 23 of Trapper Creek, was operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol and was operating the vehicle in violation of his instructional permit by not having a licensed driver over the age of 21 in the vehicle. Thein was placed under arrest for Driving Under the Influence and Driving in Violation of Instructional Permit. He was transported and remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility in Palmer.

On 10/10/17 at approximately 0109 hours, Glennallen AST contacted Leonard Ewan during a traffic stop. Department records show that Leonard has an active no bail arrest warrant from Valdez PD. Leonard was placed under arrest on the active warrant and transported to Valdez where he was remanded to serve his remaining jail time. Alcohol was not a factor in the case.

On 10/21/17 at approximately 0220 hours, Glennallen AST conducted a traffic stop on a black Chevy pickup near mile 101 Richardson Hwy. for speeding. AST investigation revealed the driver Ryan Heeter was driving the vehicle while under the influence of alcoholic beverages. Ryan was placed under arrest and transported to Glennallen post where he is being held until sober. Alcohol is a factor in the case.

On October 21, 2017 at about 1245 hours, Alaska State Troopers contacted Jeremiah Hoover, 37 of Wasilla, during an investigation. Information revealed Hoover had an outstanding warrant for original charges of Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree, Assault in the Fourth Degree, and Reckless Endangerment. Hoover was arrested and remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial.
