Wasilla Police Department

On September 22, 2017 at 0904 hours, Wasilla Police came upon a vehicle which was broken down on the side of the Palmer Wasilla Highway near Roberts Circle. A record check revealed the vehicle had been reported stolen to AST. The vehicle was unoccupied at the time of the contact. The vehicle was recovered and information was provided to AST for their case.

On September 22, 2017 at 0945 hours, Wasilla Police received a report of criminal mischief at Wasilla High School. An investigation revealed three juveniles had broken into a vending machine and stole products. The machine sustained damage in excess of $500. The case remains under investigation.

On September 22, 2017 at 1449 hours, Wasilla Police received a report of a person trespassing at Fred Meyer. Officers responded to the area and made contact with Payton Petersen who had been previously trespassed from the store. Petersen was found to be in possession of concealed merchandise and drug

paraphernalia. A purse belonging to Petersen was seized for further investigation. After being granted a search warrant officers seized methamphetamines, heroin and marijuana. Petersen was charged with criminal trespass in the 2nd degree and three counts of misconduct involving a controlled substance in the 4th degree through the District Attorney's office.

On September 22, 2017 at 1729 hours, Wasilla Police assisted APD after an individual found property of his which had been stolen at A1 Pawn on N. Main Street. The property had been reported stolen out of Anchorage. The property was documented and returned to the rightful owner. Evidence and documentation is being forwarded to APD for their investigation.

On September 22, 2017 at 1926 hours, Wasilla Police responded to Walmart for a reported shoplifting. Once contacted by officers Justin Jacobsen attempted to grab a large fixed blade knife that was on his person. A struggle ensued and ultimately officers were able to subdue Jacobsen who was arrested for assault in the 3rd degree on a peace officer and theft in the 4th degree.

On September 22, 2017 at 2231 hours, Wasilla Police received a REDDI report and contacted the driver who arrived at the Wasilla High School homecoming dance. The driver was identified as 41 year old Malia Katherine Gravel who was subsequently arrested for DUI and transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial facility.

On September 23, 2017 at 0759 hours, Wasilla Police responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of the Palmer Wasilla Highway and N. Lucille Street.

On September 22, 2017 at 1007 hours, Wasilla Police responded to First National Bank on E. Parks Highway after receiving a report of the receipt of a counterfeit $20 bill. The case is currently under investigation.

On September 23, 2017 at 1254 hours, Wasilla Police made contact with four people during the investigation of a suspicious vehicle parked in a gravel pit behind the Yenlo Street apartments. One of the individuals was identified as Heather McIntosh who was found to be in possession of heroin. McIntosh was subsequently charged with misconduct involving a controlled substance in the 4th degree through the District Attorney's office.

On September 24, 2017 at 0240 hours, Wasilla Police received a complaint from a parent who had picked up their juvenile child from a party at a residence on W. Vaunda Avenue who was highly intoxicated and had been reported to having been found on the ground convulsing and vomiting. The juvenile was taken to the emergency room for further evaluation due to the extreme intoxication. An investigation revealed John Meaney, the renter of the property had furnished alcohol to more than one minor during the party. Meaney was issued a summons to appear in court for the offense.

On September 24, 2017 at 1552 hours, Wasilla Police received a report of a shoplifting at Sally Beauty Supply on E. Parks Highway. An investigation revealed Payton Petersen had stolen multiple items from the store and an additional item from Target. Petersen had been previously trespassed from Sally Beauty supply. Petersen was also in possession of a small amount of Suboxone. Petersen was charged with theft in the 4th degree, criminal trespass in the 2nd degree and misconduct involving a controlled substance in the 4th degree.

On September 24, 2017 at 1733 hours, Wasilla Police responded to the intersection of N. Lucille Street and E. Nelson Avenue for a motor vehicle collision with injuries.

On September 25, 2017 at 0939 hours, Wasilla Police responded to a residence on W. Melanie Avenue for a reported disturbance. An investigation led to the arrest of Mosiah Renk for domestic violence assault in the 4th degree.

On September 25, 2017 at 1204 hours, Wasilla Police took a report of a domestic violence protective order violation. The case is currently under investigation.

On September 25, 2017 at 1451 hours, Wasilla Po lice responded to Newcomb Park on E. Parks Highway after receiving a report of people spray painting the women's restroom.

On September 25, 2017 at 1822 hours, Wasilla Police received a report of a theft. A 13 year old male reported his iPhone had been stolen by two women who asked to use his phone to make an emergency call. The women fled the scene in a vehicle and officers located the vehicle in the vicinity of Knik-Goose Bay Road and Vine Road and attempted to conduct a stop. The vehicle then led police on a chase which ended when the driver lost control of the vehicle at Knik-Goose Bay Road and Point MacKenzie Road. The vehicle's passenger was captured after a brief foot chase and was positively identified as Shirley Taufi who was found to have an outstanding felony probation warrant for burglary. Taufi was additionally charged with theft in the 3rd degree, criminal mischief in the 5th degree and providing false information. Officers confirmed the vehicle was stolen and located the stolen phone inside the vehicle. The investigation continues into the identity of the vehicle's driver.

On September 26, 2017 at 0744 hours, Wasilla Police responded to a motor vehicle collision on the Parks Highway at Sun Mountain Avenue.

On September 26, 2017 at 0750 hours, Wasilla Police responded to McDonald's restaurant on E. Parks Highway after receiving a report of a male slumped over the steering wheel of a vehicle in the parking lot. The male was identified as William Dovba who was subsequently arrested for DUI and driving while his license was revoked.

On September 26, 2017 at 1414 hours, Wasilla Police responded to a hit and run collision on the Parks Highway at S. Alpine Street. The victim reported the other driver had fled the scene in a red Dodge pickup after rear ending her vehicle. The case is currently under investigation.

On September 26, 2017 at 1435 hours, Wasilla Police took possession of a generator which had been found next to his apartment complex. The generator was taken for safekeeping.

On September 26, 2017 at 1621 hours, Wasilla Police took possession of a knife which had been found on E. Bogard Road. The knife was placed into safekeeping.

On September 26, 2017 at 1722 hours, Wasilla Police took a report of a theft. The complainant reported a BMX style bicycle had been stolen f rom a residence on E. Snow Hill Avenue. The loss is estimated at $400.

On September 26, 2017 at 2007 hours, Wasilla Police responded to Lowe's on E. Sun Mountain Avenue after receiving a report of a male who had concealed merchandise on his person. Following an investigation, Christopher Weeks was arrested for concealment of merchandise for the theft of a $79 orbital sander.

On September 26, 2017 at 2101 hours, Wasilla Police responded to Walmart after receiving a report of the theft of a bicycle. The complainant reported his brand new red Raleigh Talus 4.0 bicycle had been stolen from outside the business after his bike lock had been cut. Wire snips were left at the scene. The case is currently under investigation.

On September 26, 2017 at 1946 hours, Wasilla Police received a report of a runaway juvenile male. The juvenile had been returned to his mother earlier that day by police after having been gone for several weeks. The case remains under investigation.

On September 27, 2017 at 1029 hours, Wasilla Police received a report of a male walking along W. Parks Highway pointing a gun at vehicles driving by and attempting to enter one of the businesses along the highway. The business went into lockdown because they had been observing his actions. Officers arrived on scene and identified Logan Williams who indeed did have a firearm, but complied with officer commands and was taken into custody. Williams was transported to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center for a mental evaluation. Williams is being charged with two counts of assault in the 3rd degree and reckless endangerment through the District Attorney's office.

On September 27, 2017 at 1315 hours, Wasilla Police made contact with Shane Serfling for the third time asking him to leave school property at E. Swanson Avenue and N. Yenlo Street where he had been camping. Serfling refused to leave the property and was subsequently arrested for criminal trespass in the 2nd degree.

On September 27, 2017 at 1911 hours, Wasilla Police responded to a residence on W. Melanie Avenue to investigate a death. Following an investigation, the state medical examiner determined the cause of death to be of natural causes.

On September 27, 2017 at 2000 hours, Wasilla Police conducted a stop of a motorcycle at N. Lucille Street and W. Parks Highway for speeding. The driver was Kenneth Wynne who did not have a valid motorcycle license. Wynne was issued a criminal citation for the offense and an additional citation for speeding.

On September 28, 2017 at 0325 hours, an individual picked up Jeffrey Kephart offering him a ride from Walmart to his home. Kephart was too intoxicated to tell the individual where he lived, so he dropped him off at the police department. A record check revealed two outstanding warrants for Kephart's arrest which were extraditable out of Missouri. Kephart was arrested for two counts of being a fugitive from justice and transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial facility where he was held without bail.

On September 28, 2017 at 2045 hours, Wasilla Police made contact with Elijah Beck while conducting a security check of a possible homeless camp at N. Westcove Drive and E. Westpoint Drive. Beck was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and prescription medication which had not been prescribed to him. Beck was charged with two counts of misconduct involving a controlled substance in the 4th degree through the District Attorney's office.

Alaska State Troopers

Location: Palmer Type: DUI Alcohol Dispatch Text: On 9/30/17 at 0026 hours, Alaska State Troopers stopped a green Subaru Forester near the Glenn Hwy and the Palmer-Wasilla Hwy for a moving violation. Investigation revealed the driver, Philip Badger age 57 of Palmer, was operating the vehicle while impaired by alcohol. Badger was arrested and transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where he was remanded into custody to be released on his own recognizance. Location: Wasilla Type: Assault III (DV) Dispatch Text: On 09/30/17, at approximately 0028 hours, the Alaska State Troopers responded to a residence on W. Sandvik Drive in Wasilla for a report of a disturbance. Investigation revealed Jesse Jones, age 31, of Wasilla, assaulted a family member with a dangerous weapon. Jones was arrested for Assault III (DV) and remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial without bail.

On 9/28/17 at approximately 1743 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a male that wanted to turn himself in. Investigation r

Location: Copper Center Type: Criminal Mischief Dispatch Text: On 09/23/17, at approximately 1629 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a residence off of Mile 103 Old Richardson Hwy in Copper Center to investigate the report of windows being broken out of a vehicle. Investigation revealed that Craig Craig (age 21 of Copper Center) used a rock and broke the front and rear windshield on a 2008 Chevrolet sedan which did not belong to him causing approximately $700.00 in damage. Craig was issued a misdemeanor citation for Criminal Mischief 4 and released from the scene. Location: Kenny Lake Type: Warrant Arrest Dispatch Text: On 09/26/17, Glennallen AST stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation near mile 5 Edgerton Hwy. AST investigation revealed that the driver of the vehicle initially lied about her name but was later identified as Aimee Sines, 34 yoa, who had an active arrest warrant for failure to appear for remand on the original charge of DUI. Records also showed Aimee’s driver’s license is currently revoked and she has been advised of the status. Aimee was arrested on the warrant and transported to the Glennallen holding cell where she was held pending transport to MSPT to serve the remainder of her 4 days. Aimee was additionally charged with False Information and DWLR with a future court date.

Location: Gulkana Type: Alcohol Importation

Dispatch Text: On 09/27/17, Glennallen AST contacted Anthony Maxim, 23 yoa, and Clinton Maxim, 53 yoa, both of Gulkana during an investigation. AST investigation revealed that both Anthony and Clinton were bringing in alcohol to Gulkana which is a dry village/local option community which prohibits the importation of alcohol. Anthony and Clinton were issued criminal citations to appear at Glennallen court at a later time on the charge of Importation of alcohol – dry area and released on scene.

On 09/29/17 at approximately 0131 hours, Glennallen AST conducted a traffic stop on a Chevy pickup near mile 19 Edgerton Hwy. for an equipment violation. AST investigation revealed the driver, Faith Rothfuss was driving the vehicle while under the influence of alcoholic beverages. Further investigation revealed Faith had a handgun and a rifle in the vehicle. Faith was arrested for DUI and Misconduct Involving Weapons and transported to Glennallen post where she was held until sober.

On 9/28/17 at approximately 1743 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a male that wanted to turn himself in. Investigation revealed Cablin Wilson, age 19, of Wasilla had an outstanding warrant out for his arrest. He was arrested, transported and remanded to MSPT where his bail was set at $1,000 C/C.
