WASILLA — A Wasilla man sustained injuries after Alaska State Troopers used a police dog to get him out of his hiding spot.
Troopers arrived at 7:41 p.m., Dec. 13 at a home on Catrina Circle, intending to arrest Joshua “JD” Sherrick, 19, of Wasilla, on drug misconduct charges, according to a trooper press statement.
“Upon arrival at the residence, troopers attempted to contact Sherrick who was seen inside of the house. Sherrick subsequently barricaded himself in the garage area of the house where he was later located and apprehended by Trooper K9 ‘Blazer,’” troopers report.
Sherrick was arrested on the drug charges but first his injuries were treated. He was jailed at the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility on $20,000 bail. As of Thursday afternoon he was still incarcerated.
