ANCHORAGE — A Wasilla woman allegedly trying to send oxycodone to Dillingham was busted when her courier gave her up to airport police.
According to a press release from Alaska State Troopers, on April 4, Meri Jeanne Burkhardt, 34, of Wasilla, gave a package to a woman at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport and asked her to carry it to Dillingham where it would be picked up.
“The passenger became suspicious of the package and turned it over to Anchorage Airport Police,” according to the troopers.
Investigators in Dillingham and Anchorage snapped into action. The package allegedly contained “several 30-mg oxycodone tablets.”
Burkhardt was identified as the seller and arrested at 3:25 p.m., Friday at a home off of Pine Street in the neighborhoods off Cottonwood Loop in the Bogard Road area.
She was jailed at Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility on $15,000 bail, but charged with drug misconduct in Dillingham court. She’ll need to find a third party to watch over her before she can be released.
