WASILLA — City police expect a report from the state pathologist that may be complete this week will shed some light on what caused the death of a 23-month-old boy.
Wasilla Police Chief Gene Belden said an investigation is ongoing into the death of young Ezekiel Dockery, who died March 21. No charges have been filed in the case as officials are awaiting word from the state pathologist on the child’s official cause of death.
A 911 call prompted police and medical personnel to respond March 21, Belden said, adding he believes the child was not breathing when responders arrived. The child was transported to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center.
Belden declined to go into further detail, citing the pending investigation. He said police will know more about the direction of the case when the pathologist’s report is released.
