Post, Menard married

Former state senator Linda K. Menard and retired Air Force lieutenant colonel Michael C. Post were married in a private solstice ceremony on June 21 near Palmer. Chuck Heath officiated. It was his first time as Commissioner of Vows, but both the bride and groom agreed, “Chuck surely missed his calling.”

Menard and Post met on a blind date. They said they are grateful to their friends Cheryl Riggs and Tara Lachinski, who arranged the date and encouraged the two to get together.

“Sometimes blind dates work out,” the bride said.

Dr. Carole Menard and Eva Holobinko served as witnesses, and Rex Turner gave away the bride. Other guests included Steven and Colleen Menard and Inge Turner, who also photographed the

event.
