Post office needs some sprucing up

To the editor,

Once again I am terribly embarrassed to know that visitors from Alaska driving the highway arriving in Palmer perhaps stopping at the post office to check mail or to mail parcels or postcards have to arrive at a post office that is almost disgusting appearance … the flower garden in front is full of weeds and has been full of weeds for years. Dead trees border the property on the south side.

What a terrible greeting to the lush valley of Palmer where vegetables and flowers grow in abundance supposedly.

I have offered before and my offer remains open to provide weed killer and new seeds. My challenge or plea is to a scout troop, a garden club, a 4H group, a high school reunion group, or anyone interested.

I remain sincerely a proud Alaskan,
