Show your school spirit at the Potato Bowl Sept. 30 by donating new or gently used winter clothing, personal hygiene items, gas cards, gift cards to food chains, survival items to benefit the Mat-Su Borough School District’s homeless student population. Last spring, the district estimated 981 homeless students were enrolled and 245 of those homeless students were “unaccompanied” minors — teens on their own with no adult guidance. Rival fans from Wasilla and Palmer are encouraged to compete to see which school’s fans contribute the most.
