WASILLA — Production of the Friday, March 8 issue of the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman was delayed by a Matanuska Electric Association power outage that left more than 14,000 customers — including the Frontiersman — without power from 11:15 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Publisher Mark Kelsey said production of the Friday edition was delayed by the outage, but readers will still receive this edition.
“Customers who don’t receive their papers by 1 p.m. will have their accounts credited,” he said.

MEA spokesman Kevin Brown said some 14,750 customers were without service for about two hours due to what he described as a “transmission line outage.”
He said the outage primarily affected customers in the core Palmer-Wasilla area.
Multiple crews of linemen responded to trace the source the fault, Brown said.
By 1 a.m., service had been restored to all but the last 3,100 customers, he said.
MEA customers still without service should call 746-7697.
