PALMER — A night after opening its season with a tie against Grace Christian, Palmer scored its first victory of the season. The Moose blanked Bartlett 13-0 Tuesday night at the Palmer Senior Field.
Keagan Norman earned the win on the mound, allowing just a pair of hits in five shutout innings. He fanned seven and walked three.
Skyler Hale led Palmer at the plate, finishing 2 for 2, with three runs scored and three RBI. Norman, James Nelson and Aaron Christiansen drove in two runs each. Luke Guggenmos and Brady Shults also scored three runs.
Palmer dropped to 0-1-1 in Southcentral Conference play with a 17-5 loss to Kenai Central Friday.
The Moose were held to only three hits. Hale had a triple, and Shults and Christiansen both singled. Hale, Christiansen and Schenker drove in runs for the Moose.
Zack Selinger led Kenai with four RBI. Gavin Petterson, Paul Steffensen and Levi Meese drove in two each.
