PALMER - The Palmer Moose baseball squad improved to 2-2 with a 19-9 win over the Houston Hawks at the Palmer Little League Fields on Wednesday.
Mike Carlson, Mike Dotson and Tanner Grover each enjoyed multi-hit nights at the plate for the Moose.
Grover had a team-high four hits in the contest. Dotson's efforts included a home run.
Derek Eley, Adam Davis and Tyson Alger pitched for the Moose. Eley started, and earned the win.
Palmer notched the win after dropping successive losses to Homer and Colony. Moose head coach Steve Mossburgh said his team probably should have won both games. He said if Palmer plays good fundamental baseball, the Moose have the potential to be one of the better teams in the conference.
Today, Palmer hosts conference power Kodiak in a double-header at the Palmer Little League Fields. The first game is slated for 5 p.m.
