PALMER — It might be hard to call Friday’s win over Homer just a home game. Tabbing a scoring clinic might be more accurate.

The Moose erupted for 50-first half points, and stormed to an 82-43 win over the visiting Mariners at Palmer High School.

Junior Bryce Jacobson scored a game-high 21 points to help Palmer capture its first Northern Lights Conference win of the season.

Senior T.J. Fullmer buried four three-pointers in the first quarter, and added 14 points.

Sophomore Brennan Bohman recorded all nine of his points in the fourth quarter, and nine of the 10 Palmer players who hit the court in the win found the basket.

Josh Gilbert led the Mariners with 16.

It was the inside-outside combination of Jacobson and Fullmer that sparked Palmer’s 50-point first half.

Fullmer hit two of his three-pointers in the opening minutes of the game to give the Moose an early 8-2 lead, and he nailed another to extend Palmer’s lead to 13-2. Fullmer capped a 15-4 Moose run with his fourth three-pointer of the period.

As the Mariners defense began to sway toward Fullmer and the perimeter, the senior guard started to swing the ball inside to Jacobson.

The junior forward scored six in the first quarter and nine of his team’s 27 points in the second period. Four of Jacobson’s six baskets in the first half came with an assist from Fullmer.

Led by Jacobson, Palmer opened the second quarter with a 9-0 run. Jacobson completed the three-point play, after he was fouled by Homer’s Kirk Cortez, to give the Moose the 28-10 lead. Fullmer found Jacobson wide open underneath, two possessions later, and Jacobson’s easy bucket extended Palmer’s lead to 22 points.
