The Palmer High School girls' basketball squad looks a little bit like a hockey team.
No, the Moose are not checking opponents against the walls. But Palmer is able to make entire line changes.
Palmer routinely made substitutions at five postions at a time, and used its depth to cruise to the team title of the Palmer Elks Showdown at Palmer High School.
On Saturday, 10 different players scored as the Moose scorched North Pole 49-25 in the Elks title. game.
While their offensive attack was well-rounded, the Moose defense was stiff. Palmer walked off the court at halftime with a 25-3 lead, and did not allow a point in the first quarter.
On Friday, junior Ashley Swetzof scored 17 points to lead the Moose to a 67-37 win over Galena.
Swetzof was one of eight players to score in the game.
Junior Geneva Ratcliff added 10 points, and junior Nicole Kenney chipped in nine.
Palmer defeated Houston on Thursday.
