WASILLA — It was an appropriate night for Wasilla’s trio of senior captains to shine.
Connor Devine, Braydon Kuiper and Dillon Ferro combined to score 51 of Wasilla 66 points to lead the Warriors to a 66-55 win over rival Colony on the school’s senior night at Wasilla High.
Wasilla capped a perfect Northern Lights Conference regular season with the win, finishing 10-0. Colony finishes 6-4 with the loss, but clinched the No. 2 seed in the NLC North, thanks to Kodiak’s win over Palmer Friday.
In girls action, defending state champion Wasilla held on for a 47-43 win over Colony. Wasilla didn’t have a field goal during the fourth, but was 10 of 13 from the free-throw line in the final quarter.
The Wasilla girls also finished the regular season 10-0 in conference play, and will open up the NLC tourney as the No. 1 seed in the NLC North. Colony finished 5-5 and will be the No. 3 seed. Kodiak used a win over Palmer to clinch the NO. 2 seed in the North.
