Prep boys basketball: Knights need 4 OTs to get past Kodiak

PALMER — The Colony Knights needed four overtimes to post a 62-57 win over the Kodiak Bears, Saturday at Colony High School.

Sophomore John Palmer scored 14 points to lead the Knights, and was 3-for-4 from the free-throw line in the fourth overtime.

Senior Doug Gray added 11 points in the win, while seniors Matt Stearman and Jaron Murphy each scored 10.

David Cratty led the Bears with a game-high 18 points.

Comeback puts

Service over Palmer

PALMER — The Service Cougars used a 24-12 fourth-quarter run to erase a halftime deficit and score a 73-63 win over the Palmer Moose at Palmer High School on Saturday.

Palmer led 40-30 at the intermission.

Junior Bryce Jacobson led the Moose with 22 points in the nonconference loss. Senior T.J. Fullmer hit four three-pointers and scored 17 points. Senior Justin Draughon added 15.

Josh Lopez scored 23 points for Service. Marcus Lowe added 14.

Grizzlies top Hawks

ANCHORAGE — Despite leading after the first quarter, the Houston Hawks suffered a 45-35 nonconference loss to the Grace Christian Grizzlies at Grace Christian School on Friday.

Scott Herman led the Hawks with 16 points in the loss. Bryan Mason added seven.

Leif Karlberg scored a game-high 17 for Grace.
