The Houston Hawks stayed undefeated and the Colony Knights bounced back in a big way during the fifth week of Alaska’s prep football season.
Houston scored a 44-0 road win against Barrow and Colony beat rival Palmer 55-3.
Mark Kudryn rushed for 164 yards and four touchdowns to help lead the Hawks to the win over the Whalers. Trenton Hawes added 120 yards and two scores on the ground. Brandon Hina aso rushed for a touchdown.
Houston, which improved to 4-0 overall, finished with 352 yards of total offense.
The Hawks defense was stellar once again. Houston held Barrow to 94 total yards and pitched its fourth straight shutout. The Hawks have now outscored opponents 187-0. Houston has also blanked Seward, Kodiak and Homer this season.
The Division III Hawks host Division II Chugiak on Saturday.
Colony rebounded from its lone loss of the season with a lopsided win over Palmer, Quarterback Jack Nash threw for 124 yards passing and a touchdown. He also rushed for 71 yards and two scores. Jayce Underwood caught a 14-yard touchdown pass. Evan Hernandez led the Knights with 133 yards on the ground, and broke free for touchdown runs of 27 and 54 yards. Cole Hamilton added a rushing touchdown.
The Knights also had two defensive touchdowns. Bryson Whitworth and William Erickson returned interceptions for touchdowns.
Colony improved to 4-1 over. Juneau handed the Knights their first loss of the season last week.
Kayson Asay led Palmer with 128 yards rushing. Daniel Till kicked a 28-yard field goal for Palmer.
In other action, Lathrop beat Wasilla 49-6 and Homer beat Redington 52-12.
