Colony's 20-7 win over North Pole propelled the Knights into the No. 5 ranking in the latest Alaska Sports Broadcasting Network statewide media poll, which was released Monday.
Colony (2-0 overall, 1-0 Railbelt), which lost in the large-schools state championship game last season to South Anchorage, joined No. 3 Juneau (2-0 overall, 1-0 Railbelt) as Railbelt Conference representatives in the poll.
Service (2-0 overall, 2-0 Cook Inlet), which defeated West 31-0 Friday, held down the top spot, followed by Chugiak (2-0 overall, 2-0 CIC) in second.
Dimond (2-0 overall, 1-0 CIC), which followed up its Week 1 defeat of Palmer with a 16-12 win over Bartlett, was fourth.
The top two spots in the Small-Schools poll remained unchanged, with Soldotna High (2-0 overall, 0-0 Northern Lights) maintaining its top ranking after downing Palmer 47-14 on Friday in Palmer. Kenai Central (2-0 overall, 1-0 NLC), which routed Ketchikan 61-0 Saturday, was second, followed by Skyview (2-0 overall, 1-0 NLC) and Kodiak (1-1 overall, 1-0 NLC).
No. 5 Eielson (1-1 overall, 1-0 Greatland) was the lone GLC team represented in the poll after posting a 34-21 win over Houston on Friday.
