ANCHORAGE — The schedule for the semifinal round is set and Colony is slated to face Service Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Anchorage Football Stadium.
Colony, the Railbelt Conference champion, moved into the semifinals with a 27-14 win over Dimond at Colony High last Friday. Service, the Cook Inlet Conference runner-up, beat Palmer 31-21 to advance. With a win over Service on Friday, Colony would advance to the state championship game for the third time in school history. The Knights are 0-2 in title games, falling to Dimond in 2000 and South Anchorage in 2006.
Cook Inlet Conference champion West Anchorage will face Railbelt runner-up Juneau-Douglas in the other large-schools semifinal, Saturday at 1 p.m. at AFS.
In the small-school semifinals, Soldotna meets Eielson Friday at 4 p.m. and Homer faces defending state champion Kenai Central Saturday at 4:30 p.m.
