HOUSTON — Senior Jen Mason scored 28 points to led the Houston Hawks to a 63-58 nonconfernece win over the Homer Mariners in Houston on Thursday.
Mason scored 22 of her points in the first half to help the first-year Mid-Alaska Conference program earn the win over the Northern Lights Conference team.
Forward Alana Katzenberger scored 11 for the Hawks, while senior Emily Hundley added nine.
Reba Temple led the Mariners with 19.

Knights cruise in win over Patriots
PALMER — The Colony Knights cruised to a 75-38 nonconference win over the North Pole Patriots at Colony High School on Thursday.
All 11 Colony players who saw action in the game scored for the Knights.
Junior Maria Bowker led her squad with 19 points, and hit a game-high three shots from beyond the arc.
Junior Allie Grazulis was 7-for-8 from the free-throw line and added 13 points, while junior Alex Coon scored 10.
North Pole captain Julia Kellogg scored 20 of her team’s 38 points.
North Pole stays in the Valley, and will visit Mid-Alaska Conference rival Houston tonight.
Colony hosts Northern Lights Conference foe Homer on Saturday afternoon.
