ANCHORAGE — Wasilla senior captain Chancie Hanson scored a pair of goals and added an assist to lead the Warriors to a 5-1 nonconference win over Bartlett on Thursday.
Wasilla’s forward line of Troy Verplanke, Tanner Schachle and Rell Sturdevant accounted for two goals in the game. Verplanke and Schachle each finished with a goal and an assist. Sturdevant set up both scores.
Junior Zach Eastman earned the win in goal for the Warriors.
Moose finish 1-2 in Fairbanks
FAIRBANKS — The Palmer Moose finished 1-2 during a tough three-game trip through the Interior over the weekend.
Palmer sandwiched a 7-0 win over North Pole with a pair of close losses. The Moose opened their stay in the Fairbanks area with a 3-1 loss to Lathrop. Thomas Morino scored the lone goal for Palmer.
On Friday, Palmer cruised to a 7-0 win over North Pole. Ashton Good earned the shutout in net.
On Saturday, West Valley needed a third-period goal with eight minutes left to edge the Moose 1-0. Blake Brazil scored Palmer’s goal.
