WASILLA — Sophomore Cody Lipse used a five-goal weekend to help lead the Houston Hawks to a two-game sweep over Glennallen at the Brett Memorial Ice Arena.
Lipse, a sophomore forward, notched a hat trick during a 14-1 win over the Panthers last Friday. Lipse was one of two players to finish with a hat trick and one of four to collect at least four points.
Zack Weisz led the Hawks with eight points during the win, three goals and five assists. Patrick Thistle and Zach Lovelace had two goals each.
Lane Styers, Rye Humphreys, Johan Shuey and Jaden Sears also scored for Houston.
Lipse contributed two goals and an assist during a 10-1 win over Glennallen the following afternoon. Jon Olson led the Hawks with the hat trick during that win. Styers and Lovelace scored twice, and Humphreys also scored.
Weisz led the Hawks with three assists.
Houston outshot Glennallen 58-14 during the first game and 36-14 during the second game of the series.
