FAIRBANKS — Palmer junior Zack Richards scored late in the third period to lift the Moose to a 5-4 win over the Lathrop Malemutes Friday at the Big Dipper Ice Arena in Fairbanks.
After Lathrop took an early 2-0 lead, Palmer juniors Andrew Ferguson and Michael Hanson scored near the end of the first to tie the score at 2-2.
Palmer took the lead in the second period with goals from Hanson and C.J. Watson.
Lathrop tied the score at 4-4 late in the second.
Phillip Clifton, Alec Hajdukovich, Kyle Olson and Taylor Munson scored for Lathrop.
On Saturday, Richards and Hanson each scored twice to lead Palmer to a 5-3 win over West Valley at the Big Dipper.
Jared Hanson also scored for Palmer.
Sophomore Jonas Naegele earned the win in goal, with 19 saves.
Palmer (6-2) finished 2-1 during the three-game road trip through the Interior. The Moose suffered a 7-2 loss to North Pole on Thursday.
Lynx skate past Warriors
WASILLA — The Dimond Lynx skated to a 9-1 win over the Wasilla Warriors in nonconference hockey action at the Brett Memorial Ice Arena on Friday.
Senior Dane Wilson scored the lone goal for Wasilla. Senior Joe Barkley and junior Levi Johnston recorded assists on the play.
Senior Jesse Hugli and junior Jake Dargis each saw time in net for the Warriors. Hugli played the first two period, stopping 16 shots. Dargis had 11 saves in the third.
Dimond held a slim 2-0 lead after the first 15 minutes of play, but exploded for seven goals in the final two periods.
Scott Wamsganz led the Lynx with the hat trick. Husten Burgh added two goals for Dimond.
