ANCHORAGE — The three-time defending state champion South Anchorage Wolverines scored three times in the third period and skated to a 6-0 nonconfernece win over the Wasilla Warriors at the Ben Boeke Arena in Anchorage on Tuesday.
Sophomore Chris Yaskus stopped 35 of South’s 41 shots in the Wasilla goal.
Wasilla returns to the ice to face Valley rival Colony Friday at 7 p.m. at the Menard Memorial Ice Arena in Wasilla.

WASILLA — The Colony Knights and Bartlett Golden Bears combined for nine goals in the third period and skated to a 6-6 tie at the Curtis C. Menard II Memorial Ice Arena in Wasilla on Tuesday.
Colony forward Chris Sawyer forced the tie when he popped the puck past Bartlett goaltender Erik Eckberg with 27 seconds remaining in regulation.
Despite allowing the game-tying goal, Eckberg was stellar in net stopping 44 shots, including 13 in overtime.
Colony outshot the Bears 50-34 in the game and 13-4 in the extra period.
Kevin Boyer led the Knights with a pair of goals, posting both scores with a two-minute span in the third period.
Lance Nezaticky, Kyle Miller and Braden Carter also scored for the Knights.
Tyler Sewell and Erik Neimi each scored twice for Bartlett.
Sewell notched both of his scores during a 26-second stretch late in the third to give the Bears the lead. Sewell tied the score with 2:43 left in regulation and gave Bartlett the temporary lead with 1:51 left.
